TkYang
as i stated in the title, i am new to modding. now i have been reading the discription of this mod and it says that i need patch 1.2.0416. but when i was linked to that page it said i didnt need it if i had the GOTY edition of oblvion. now i have the DELUX goty oblivion but it still wont allow me to down load it. The next thing i did was go to the 1.1.511 patch but then it said: Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (nxm) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context. DrakeTheDragon
What exactly does not allow you to download it? Which mod is it you're having trouble with? The Nexus requirements reminder popup is "not" a blocking one.You can continue downloading regardless, whether you meet the requirements or not, it does not check, only remind. If your game version already is 1.2.0416, then you won't need any other patches. You can read up your game version below the main menu title screen where the map scroll video is running. Surilindur
Are you sure you are not pressing the "download with manager" instead? The green one? Usually "nxm" thingies refer to the Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) -specific links. NMM is not something you should generally be using for Oblivion, it will fail with almost all of the more complex mods from what I have heard (never used it myself). OBMM and Wrye Bash might be good ones to check out, they have been designed for Oblivion. Downloading works with Firefox just fine. Make sure you do it this way:find the download you want in the downloads tab of the mod click "download manually" make sure you have the required files listed in the popup click the green "continue with my download" button at the bottom the popup contents will change and the page will start loading, just wait the usual "what do you want to do with this" prompt should appear, select to save it add the file to your preferred mod manager (you might need to extract it too, for example if using Wrye Bash)And that should be it. The green button is for downloading with NMM, and you should not be downloading with NMM when modding Oblivion. Download manually, then add it to your mod manager somehow. And if you are going to ask "Why is there a download with manager button if it does not work?", the answer is: "Do not use it if you know it does not work." Now you know it does not work, so you do not need to use it. Maybe it works with Skyrim, but not with Oblivion. Some of the Skyrim mods have FOMOD data in them, and NMM can read that FOMOD data, but it cannot read OMOD and BAIN wizard data from what I have heard - at least not properly. Hopefully that helps a little, chances are it does not. But the "nxm" thing just sounds like you might have clicked the green manager download button that is intended for use with NMM, whereas NMM is not necessarily intended for use with Oblivion (like I said already, but rehearsal is the mother of learning or something like that). Edited March 30, 2016 by Contrathetix
