I bought the retail version of the game but I'm staying with relatives studying abroad and I left the disc at home because I intended to use steam if I needed to reinstall it.

Cool, Suggest you copy the posted procedure, send your self an E-mail so when you do get home, you'll have it in a safe place. I have that solution typed up in a service Guide I intend to release On Bethesda web site along with other Details with an approval from them as to it's accuracy. Just crossing all t's and dotting all the I's. This may also be include in to a PDF we're making for this mod. Every bit helps to get the word out. I still am waiting to see if you have any luck with what your attempting. It would be super cool if it pans out and you get things in order.

Thanks for the assistance, sadly the instructions, didn't work. I'm going to see if I archive invalidation returns the textures. I didn't download the archive invalidated mod because I thought FOMM would do this. I'll try the mod and see what happens. The missing textures are for minor objects like empty whiskey bottles or bent can's e.t.c In the pip-boy a few icons for bullets are simply pink squares instead of the icon.

Here's the image I have from the Prospectors Saloon in Goodsprings

After using FOMM to check the Fallout Textures BSA, I found out I'm completely missing different folders for the texture files. I don't have a textures\clutter\liquorbottles folder. Infact I have only 2 folders in the clutter folder, and those are for 2 of my mods. Is this normal?

EDIT: I'm going to use FOMM to extract Fallout - Textures.BSA and Fallout - Textures2.BSA and copy it to my data folder and see what happens

EDIT: The above method didn't help

If you have done the procedure as directed, then you have all those files you needing on the D: drive in the renamed folder, captured. Texture files are contained in the bsa fills, yes, but they are compressed. Placing those extracted may not work.

I did the procedure, and I have the BSA files. The extraction didn't work.

Here a are the file sizes, for comparison:

Fallout - Textures.bsa - 1,168,718 kb (1.11 GB)

Fallout - Textures2.bsa - 938,721 kb (916 MB)

If you cannot minimize the game or close the game process with CTRL + ALT + DEL while it is frozen, This is not the games problem.

Your system is likely to have a lockup because of hardware problems, For some reason some hardware conflicts with certain games. I had a problem in TF2 where my game locked up my system and Alt F4 didnt help nor did Ctrl alt delete.

So .. It is more then likely it is your system.

I have the same problem freeze when entering some places or when loading after dying. I even playing with mods off now. I think they broke my game with all the patches ,because the game for me run fine with out patches. I also got some strange thing with textures where they turn black?

I can close the game with ctrl+alt+del. That was the only way I could close the game as I specified. alt+f4 doesn't work. Besides, the freezing has pretty much stopped with ccmechanic2's fix

Ok so a recap on this subject, you can play the game, but some textures are messed up in vanilla, no mods but mine right? save your game right where those textures are effected, close, remove my mod from the directory completely and go back in and see if those textures return to normal. If they do return to normal, you must send me that saved game file, I will use it to find the strings effecting your game. Because it may also be happening to others but they dont know where or what is the cause. How ever if they remain, we will go at it another way to get you all fixed up.
