Supreme Magicka ini issues

Hello All,

Strange issue I have encountered with SM. When I make alterations to the ini in my Oblivion/Data folder it has no effect in game. It doesn't matter what I change the numbers to, they remain at the "default" values.

Example, the default value for grand soul gems is a charge of 2000.

I want them to be back at my OOO levels (2800)

Looks like this:

SetGS iSoulLevelValuePetty 250 ; (150)

SetGS iSoulLevelValueLesser 500 ; (300)

SetGS iSoulLevelValueCommon 1200 ; (800)

SetGS iSoulLevelValueGreater 1600 ; (1200)

SetGS iSoulLevelValueGrand 2800 ; (1600) (OOO: 2800)

And, it is still 2000 in game. Changing max conjures per skill level also makes no changes.

Now, when I start is there supposed to be a "supreme magicka initialized" statement that runs on the top of the screen like deadly reflex? Because there currently is not.

The install method was OMOD ready format through OBMM.

I think it has made some difference though, the cost of my spells has gone down, the duration of buffs has increased, etc. It seems like it is only half working.

Any help is appreciated. I am able to clarify anything if needed as well.

Thanks in advance

Also, there seems to be an issue with the resistances. I had mudcrabs resisting all magic effects. My sneak attacks seem to have a 1/4 chance of having any magic associated with them completely resisted now. I have a bow that soul traps and damages health 30 pts. Another that does light shock/fire/frost damage. When I hit enemies it seems to just autoresist everything and lists it at the top.

First time I have ever seen "soul trap effect resisted" hahaha.

Not sure if it has to do with the items being created prior to installing SM or not.

Anyone experience anything similar?

No help then? First and only bump.

Hung around and solved problems for good karma :)

Anyone with any experience with SM ini work is welcome.

My first reaction would be to reinstall the mod. Did you accidentally delete something in the ini (like uncommenting one of the comments)? Was this happening before you edited the ini? The mudcrab resist thing sounds unrelated to SM, and the sneak issue sounds like the mod is just screwed up...do you have any mods that could possibly conflict? (Midas Magic and OOO come to mind.)

Edit: Wow I have bad reading, didn't even look at the mod list there. Attack and hide, Deadlier Sneaking, and Toaster's Legendary Skills could conflict with SM (not personally familiar with those 3 mods, though). SM probably does have some serious issues with OOO and the other FCOM parts (I personally use just OOO and still have some weird issues, like trap spells [especially paralyze] glitching out sometimes, plus necromancers acting weird). The grand soul gem problem seems like it's just because you edited it after you picked it up.

Or maybe FCOM decided to just be funny and make invincible mudcrabs? Who knows.

Thanks for the response.

In regards to ini altering, My initial text only changed a single value and the semicolons remained in their same locations. I simply deleted a zero and made it an 8.

After further testing I have isolated the issue and it is a strange catalyst but one that occurs frequently in my game.

If I am sneaking, with any type of chameleon (strength doesn't matter, I am generally between 20 and 35 in dungeons depending on loadout) any sneak attacks will have all magic attached to them resisted. This occurs whether I have been spotted or not. The combination of crouched/chameleoned/attacking leads to 100% resist for the enemies. Magic used without an enchant (i.e. a spell) under these circumstances will also be resisted.

It is probably just something I will have to deal with, or disable SM. The issues no longer exist when it is disabled.

Once again, thanks for the reply :)
