Need help with Wyre Bash and a Complex Mod Guide.

So here is my problem. I am following this long, difficult modding guide found HERE.

Currently, I have just finished Step 5, the Body mods section. Now, when I started up Oblivion I had several new "Races" to choose from. This ranged from Dremora to Tang Ho(?) to even "Redguard Male" and "Redguard Female". I know the Redguards are there to help make the Redguard NPC's look better and the other races I don't really mind. I just hope they do not show up in game because the Skyrim Khajiit (not to be confused with this guy) and the Tang Ho do not have any textures, causing them to be this creepy black void... unless I adjust the paleness which makes them a creepy white void. Like I said, all that I can ignore. The MAIN problem I am having is that the regular races all have pitch black eyes! Other people seem to be able to get through the guide just fine, so I think the problem is my inexperience with Wyre Bash.

I don't know what I should do when it comes to Rebuilding the Bashed patch. Do I make as many selections as possible or is there specific criteria for picking and choosing which .esps to import? (like with Graphics and Actors, etc.) If I need to provide some information, can I ask that you not only tell me what information I must provide but also how to provide it? Especially if that information comes from one of the many features of Wrye Bash.

When installing the mods did you check all of the "required mods" for each of them. For example, a requirement for better looking redgaurds is listed as:

Requirements

==========

NPC Face Color Unlocker (otherwise the skin color on the faces won't match the bodies)

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10811

Each of the mods in each section may have numerous required mods to be downloaded and installed along with them.

In regards to black eyes, I seem to remember running into those issues from not having rens beauty pack installed. Many character replacer mods utilize rens for specific meshes and textures.

Running multiple character replacer mods with multiple requirements can be a complex task at best, and a near impossible puzzle at worse. In the end it is best to have all races condensed into a single mod with a master esm file that draws all required eyes/hairs etc from one location.

In regards to new races being placed into the main game as npc's. Unless you have a mod that specifically utilizes one of them (such as a companion mod) they do not generally spawn in world. For example, I use a synx race and there are no other synx in the game except for me. The redgaurd mod changes the default race texture (which will appear in game since it is a default race) but the better looking redgaurd male/female will not. Niether will the Tang Mo/etc.

Edit: I just did a full install with this guide http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1192165-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom/

And everything works wonderfully. Best done with a high end gaming system though.

TLDR: I dont think it is a bash issue, I think it is a resources in the data folder issue.

I got Ren's Beauty Pack and the Face Color thing. Now I have two sets of Mystic Efl Races, one with good eyes and one without. I still think it has to do with Wrye Bash because when I disabled all the mods te eyes wnet back to normal, so the files are there. I think te mod I got for etter Bosmer has something to do with it where it makes the Wood Elves' eyes black to give them more of a Morrowindish feel but I don't know. It's midnight here and Wrye Bash is to complex for me to use but too useful for me to not use.

I imagine if you did Part B of Section 3 (FCOM) then you are very familiar with placing the appropriate files in the appropriate places. So I will assume that all of the meshes and textures folders were installed properly.

The esp file will activate the race on the selection screen, whether it has the proper meshes and textures or not.

The only way to figure it out is to activate the mods one at a time, see if they work. If it works, deactivate and move to the next one.

If it is a single mod, it can be remedied in the CS.

If they all work alone, then there is a file conflict somewhere. Some screenshots of what exactly is happening and what the offending races are would be very helpful :)

EDIT: What do you mean by this?

"I still think it has to do with Wrye Bash because when I disabled all the mods te eyes wnet back to normal, so the files are there."

Do you mean you removed them from the bashed patch? or turned off the esp entirely?

Also, I assume you are talking about this esp from the Bosmer file

"Better Looking Wood Elves Vanilla Black Eyes.esp - This version does not rely on any other mod, and uses black Bosmer eyes contained in the package."

That should only affect the eyes of the wood elves race, not any others. The esp (I imagine) is written to only override one race specifically.

Ah! I found out the problem. Turns out the mod Beautiful People managed to sneak in there, which seems to be highly incompatible with most of my stuff.

EDIT: Back to my original question on Wyre Batch, when rebuilding the patch should I or shouldn't I try to select as many things to import as I can? There are lenty of pages about Wrye Bash but not much on the "YES IT IS GOOD" or the "NO IT IS BAD" advice on what a person should or shouldn't do.

EDIT (Again!): Yeah, about my previous comment. Midnight + stressed out from errors = poor thinking/typing skills.

Generally you can bash things like leveled lists and graphics etc. I am running ~70 mods and only 2 of them aren't bashed (and that is due to explicit directions not to bash)

Most mods will already have the bash tags applied so they will appear in the appropriate lists.

Trial an error is the surest bet though.

Glad you got everything working :)
