haiyetsu
I apologize if this isn't in the right place. I love the Silverlight Armor created by Jojjo (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28723) but I'd love to remove that glossy reflective look it has because I don't like how it shows up in the dark, etc. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/28723-1-1260813940.jpg I'm new to modding myself, and am just learning how to use NifSkope and the CS to make small changes to mods to fit my personal tastes, but I cannot find a tutorial that explains how to get rid of it, nor anyone to explain it. Also, anyone who can tell me how, or point me to a good tutorial, to convert armor/clothing from one cup size to another, as well as how to convert the lower body, is awesome. I use the HGEC C cup, normal lower, and I hate skipping over some outfits because they're only an F, or H, or some other ridiculous size. Sometimes even a D cup is just too large for me personally, like with the D-Huntress outfit, which I'd like to make a B or C cup: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/22230-3-1233227463.jpg Anyway, help is greatly appreciated! dazzerfong
For the first one, either turn on the Windows Reflection option in the Graphics menu (this will make it a metallic shine instead), or use NifSkope and turn down the gloss setting in the material box. For the second question, you'll need to use Blender for that: it's advised that if you're new to this, you shouldn't attempt it because it's actually quite hard, I'm afraid. DrakeTheDragon
Actually it's the apply mode setting of the NiTexturing property for the first one. The Silverlight parts all have this set to HIGHLIGHT, which is what makes this shiny surface. Change it to the normal MODULATE and the shine is gone. It will still be a slightly reflective metal, but the smooth shiny surface looking like plastic wrap is gone. Due to the massive number of parts per file for the Silverlight Armor I advise using the spell "optimize -> combine properties" first, so you will only have to do this once for each texture record, which will affect multiple armor parts at once, if you're lucky. haiyetsu
so where would i go to find the NiTexturing property? and the spell you referenced? nifskope is still somewhat confusing unless i'm simply removing meshes :)
DrakeTheDragon
so where would i go to find the NiTexturing property? and the spell you referenced? nifskope is still somewhat confusing unless i'm simply removing meshes :)On the left side there's somewhat like a tree of the different nodes there are in the NIF. For equipment it usually starts with "Scene Root", then you can open this ("+"-sign) and it will show the NiTriShapes/Strips the item consists of and the NiNodes of the Armature ("Bip01", "Bip01 Pelvis", etc.). The NiTriShapes/Strips you can open again and you get to see all their properties, among these the NiTexturing property I mentioned (inside this then is a property for the source path to the texture, but that's just for reference now). If you highlight this, in the window below you will see its settings. Scroll down to find the Apply Mode and change it from HIGHLIGHT to MODULATE and the plastic-like shine will be gone. The spells can be obtained from the menu bar on top. I think there's even a top-level menu entry named "Spells". Inside this there's "Optimize" and inside this then there's the spell "Combine Properties" I mentioned. I hope this helps.
