What kind of music do you listen to while playing fallout?

Iv just got back into fallout 3, after playing a few other games. It took a little while to get it working again coz I wanted to start off right away with a few mods (i say a few but its hard to stop once I start adding them) and had so many problems with that I nearly gave up. The last bug was a house mod that liked to force me to listen to a single song whenever I came near anything radio like, All Along the Watchtower would play. The first time was when I was about to take the goat and at the time I thought it was pretty neat. Man did that change. After a while id finally got out of the vault, saved Amy and ran into the closest eye bot. I guess its not hard to know where im going with this but yeah that was playing, even GNR was. I tried to play on but it was no use. it was just killing the game for me.

Well heh sorry for the long story but that got me wondering what music people listen to when playing fallout. Now that i have that fixed I have to say I like some Disturbed while in a fire fight or just wondering around, really love some of their songs.

Oh and I was wondering does anyone like the default music? like what three dog plays, I like him but I just cant stand some of that 50s stuff he plays, which i think is a shame. I know I like some of the music from that era but I guess bethesda just didnt pick any of that.

Also does anyone else think that the fallout games are rather limited on their what music they can pick? I kinda wish they could just have a bunch of raiders make their own radio station and rock out.

Well I use as many radio mods as I can, the GNR extensions, Conelrad,. I personaly just love the 1920s to 1960 Jazz and Rock and to me there is something commical listening to them whilst playing such a gory game. It just brillient. So yeah, I listen to the ingame radios.

I usually use a radiomod that lets me listen to whatever i feel like. So when I get tired of Three Dog, I switch over to Enya, kind of calms everything down :)

So thats two for mods, I did think about geting a radio mod but with my luck it would most likely have messed something else up heh. Im fine just useing a music player, even tho I cant tab fallout without it crashing to change the songs.

I normally just listen to the enclave radio cuz Three-Dog annoys the hell out of me.

I like Conelrad radio. Very fitting for the era. It even has some original PSAs from the 50s I believe.

Sometimes I actually listen to Enclave radio. Just got a new one, Agatha's station which plays classical. I think that is part of the My Mansion mod. Sometimes I just want it quiet though. I have a mod installed that adds sounds to the wasteland like howling wolves and screaming people. At times that's the only "music" I need

Depending on where I am game wise, sometimes I listen to plain ole Three Dog. Sometimes I just throw the soundtrack from 'Battlestar Galactica' into the CD player. a lot of that music fits the theme of Fallot. Even their version of 'All along the watchtower'.

I did just recently add the mod 'Existence 2.0'. Plays some very creepy soundtrack type stuff with a depressed robot DJ.

I've always liked the ambient in game music. It really reflects on the lonely and destroyed landscape and makes the game seem larger. It makes you think of all of the scorched earth that's not in the game. Also such pieces as the ambient dungeon music help really set an intense mood or the battle music which blends perfectly with the other pieces. I don't have a problem with the in game music but sometimes it gets a bit repetitive and it doesn't set the mood like the original pieces do.
