terickson227
I created a mod based on the tutorial to create "Vault 74," but it has a few glitches that I can't seem to figure out, such as my character falling through the floor in a certain area. I'm not very experienced in creating mods, as I only started a few days ago, so I can't tell where mistakes I've made end and true glitches begin. Would anyone care to look at and test my mod to see what I'm doing wrong and tell me any possible fixes to it? I'm not sure how to have someone test my mod, if it's even possible, so please tell me if you can and how you do it. Edit: I found the problem to me falling through the floor. It was the piece vdnwallwindow01, which is the diner piece with the window. No other piece has this problem. Is this a glitch that everyone has? I can;t use another piece because no other piece fits where I have it. Edited June 19, 2011 by terickson227
caramellcube
I've just taken a look in the GECK and VRmWallWindow01 should fit into anywhere that vdnwallwindow01 does, so it might be worth checking if the problem still occurs with that piece. If it won't fit then there's something strange going on. I take it you have grid snap on and set to 64 or 128? If you can upload the .esp file your mod creates somewhere, people should be able to test it using that as long as they know the name of the cell you made. edit - fixed spelling Edited June 19, 2011 by caramellcube

Grid snap is always on when I'm placing hallway/room pieces. It is set, however, to 32. Would it make a difference to change it? Edit: Thanks for your response! I tried your suggestion, and although it doesn't match the diner theme, I don't fall through the floor any longer. Switching the grid to 64 didn't work. Well, if there's no visible gap it shouldn't make a difference, 32 should be ok for snapping room pieces.
freddy_farnsworth
Hello! I have found a few pieces like that, they have no collision layer. You can create a collision Box and put it under it and the player will not fall thru.(invisible ingame) c:yafreddie

terickson227
There are three problems I have now: 1. A guard that I'm trying to get to patrol goes through one door successfully, walks up some stairs, then stops at a door, turns around, and walks back to where he started.2. An NPC I have set to sandbox in one navmesh area "teleports" to another when I test my vault.3. Some areas flicker for seemingly no reason.
