fkees97
Hello. It's been a year since I've played Fallout 3 and that's mainly because my main file is somewhat corrupt. The file is playable, but there are several bugs and strange changes that have occurred. Before I go into the details, I do know about backups (which I've unfortunately deleted before my file became corrupted), starting a new game (this is my third 250 hour file, the other two underwent worse fate), and caution, etc, etc, etc. Basically, I know what I should have done and the consequences of my actions, and I do know the experience of redoing everything again. I had several mods installed at the time of the corruption, but the mod I thought was the cause of the corruption was a goo/ash pile vanish mod because the moment the glitches and bugs happened, I remember I was in battle against some Enclave soldiers when one wielding a plasma rifle scored a critical hit on me, and then my entire body was invisible except for some green outlines and spots. Initially I assumed it was only temporary, but I was unfortunately wrong. There were several changes I've noticed, but I'm pretty sure I'm missing some more glitches and bugs on my file: -My carry weight decreased by 85 lbs. -My pipboy screen is visible, but the rest of it is not, except for the lights indicating which menu I'm on.-My character's hands are invisible in the first person view, but weapons still show.-Some clothing have random invisible patches.-All clothing that have an invisible effect (Chinese Stealth Suit and other clothes mods related to it) leaves my character partially invisible while standing or crouching.-I could probably say an increased crashing rate, but there are so many factors that could possibly contribute to it that I'm not so sure about this one. I tried playing the file with the goo/ash pile mod disabled, different pile mods enabled, and even running the game completely vanilla, but I still have the same effects. When running the same mods on a new game save, it's normal, so ultimately, it's the save itself that's internally corrupted. So if it's possible, hopefully there's a way I can defrag or fix the save itself. Just anything to make my save normal again, or else I'll have to reluctantly start another file. Any feedback or help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
blove
Have you tried "player.killactor" without the quotes in the console?
fkees97
Have you tried "player.killactor" without the quotes in the console? Now that you bring that up, it may do something, but I just uninstalled the game because it's acting like a time bomb; The same save or any other save or even a new game will completely lock up after about a minute. I'm gonna reinstall it and see if it works, but if not, I'm just gonna buy the GOTY edition, restart a new game completely, and redownload every mod I had installed. I don't know what's wrong with the game, maybe my disc is damaged or something, but wow is it unstable right now. Thanks for the help, I looked up a thread involving the command you mentioned, and it looks like it could be a breakthrough.http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/114431-what-to-do-when-you-cant-save/
