Heads and Bodies aren't matching

Recommended Posts

okay this the only other thing I can think of that might help, I found this on Breezes FO3 males mod page.

not sure it will help but here it is.

This topic is for trouble shooting the installation process. To install this mod, follow the following steps:

Step 1: FOMM

-----------------------------------------------------

You need to have the latest version of FOMM installed (download from http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640 if you don't have it already).

Install it!

Step 2: Download mod

-----------------------------------------------------

From the download page, download the .7z file. DO NOT UNZIP THE FILE!!! Save it somewhere handy.

Step 3: Add Package to FOMM

-----------------------------------------------------

Run FOMM, go to the Package Manager and add a new package.Then locate the .7z file you downloaded and click OK.

Step 4: Install the mod so FO3 can use it

-----------------------------------------------------

In FOMM's package manager, double click on the package that was added in Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions. If you want to use this mod with MMM or other DLC's, then these must be installed FIRST since this mod detects if they're installed and installs additional content.

VERY IMPORTANT!!! Once you return to the main screen of FOMM, you must switch off Archive Invalidation (if it is on) and then switch it on again. If you don't, THEN THE TEXTURES WON'T WORK PROPERLY.

That's what I did the first time, and what I've been doing since. So I've installed it properly, which means the conflict is likely elsewhere.

I think it's time I go to the absolute extreme to figure out this problem and how to fix it.

Time to uninstall everything and start over fresh. I've got FOMM uninstalling everything, and I'll delete all the mod file folders in the directory, and then we'll see what happens.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hu? now that is odd, as the type 3 body replacer is for the females not males, I to am working on installing that mod as well as breeze's, sorry I was away a bit working on my Re-Re-Install of FO3 & the mods that I'm looking to use. As I was reading through the thread again here, something came to mind, I don't remember who it was that told me this, but when installing Breeze's male replacers mod, a window pops up that gives you some options to choose from & then it asks if you want to install the armor, I was told not to do so. I was never told why not to, but the only thing I can think of is that if your installing FWE or Fook2 or any other mod that also changes the armor & or male replacers, that can also cause Fubard effects.

I just found this, Breeze's male Body Patch for Project beauty that is if your installing project beauty, either way not sure how much it would help.

I also found this, hope that it helps.

Installing Type 3 is slightly more complicated than some other mods, you can't just drop it in & go. There are choices to be made & separate parts to assemble.

That being said, it's not as scary as it might first appear.

You need to download:

TYPE3_BODY_V3dot5-4280

In there are five folders containing different versions of the Type 3 Body mesh. You only need one. Check out the image section for pictures of the different models to help you make your choice.

AND:

TYPE3_V2_TEXTURE_pack-4280

In there are the main body textures plus some options & head textures.

You can get Fallout mod manager (FOMM) here:

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640

Here's how to make a Type 3 FOMM pack;

- Make a new folder & call it Type 3 Mod.

- Extract TYPE3_BODY_V3dot5-4280 & Choose which body mesh you wish to use (TYPE3 BASE HD body, TYPE3 SLIM body etc). Which ever one you choose, open the folder & right click on the meshes folder within & select cut.

Paste this meshes folder into the Type 3 Mod folder you made earlier.

- Extract TYPE3_V2_TEXTURE_pack-4280. Now go into the folder, there should be two sub folders: Options&Customization & TYPE3 V2 TEXTURES. Go into TYPE3 V2 TEXTURES & right click on the textures folder & select cut. Paste this textures folder into the Type 3 Mod folder next to the meshes folder.

(Note: the Options&Customization contains some variety & extra bits. You don't have to use anything in here. Remember if you do use anything in the STYLES for V2 TEXTURE folder to rename the file you choose to upperbodyfemale. (eg upperbodyfemaleNOTRIM change to upperbodyfemale & place it into the Type 3 Mod - textures - characters - female folder, saying yes to overwrites))

- If you want your raider females to work properly you will need to take care of their textures too. I recommend you download Alternate Female Raider Skins for Type3 - TypeV - MMMF3.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11711

Get the file - TYPE3-V-RaiderSkins

(If you don't use MMM then you won't need the extra TYPE3-V-RaiderSkins-MMMF3 file)

- Extract TYPE3-V-RaiderSkins-11711. Go into the extracted data folder & right click on the textures folder & select cut. Paste this textures folder into the Type 3 Mod folder, clicking yes to overwrites.

- Now open FOMM. Click on - "Package manager" on the right. In the package manager, click on - "Create from folder" above the Extract to... button (This button can sometimes get set to something else. There is a little black arrow to the right of it, clicking on that will bring up a pull down, select "Create from folder" on there). A window will open, navigate to where you made the Type 3 Mod folder & select it.

When FOMM is done, left click on Type 3 Mod in FOMM & select "Activate" on the right.

- To deactivate this mod, all you have to do is open FOMM, select "Package manager", select "Type 3 Mod" & click on Deactivate.

Take care of Archive invalidation, affects all mods that add textures.

Without it textures won't show up properly in game.

Either download & activate:

ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944

Or, if you use FOMM click on Toggle Invalidation on the right.

Note: You will have to get a Type 3 compatible clothes & armor replacer for the clothes to work properly.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5326

I usually bundle all the Type 3 related mods into a folder called Type 3 Mod and turn it into a FOMM pack (like the example I gave above).

For Armor & Clothes replacer, just stick the meshes folder from Armor_Meshes-5326...

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5326

...Into the Type 3 Mod folder I told you to make BEFORE opening it with FOMM.

That way you end up with the Type 3 bodies, clothes & raiders all in one handy pack.

Or you can just add the Armor & Clothes in separately.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you want to try the heads that come with this mod then:
In the TYPE3_V2_TEXTURE_pack-4280.7z pack there is a folder called - Options&Customization.
In there is a folder called - FACE textures for V2.
Within that are two sub folders;
ALT HEAD
DEFAULT HEAD
To try them out, simply copy the contents of ONE of these folders into your:
Fallout 3 - Data - textures - characters - female
...folder.
Note that it will alter not just your face but all normal npc females apart from raiders.
If you don't like either of those new faces, simply delete the headhuman, headhuman_n, headhuman_sk & headhumanf10_n dds files from the female folder you placed them in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As well as the female Raiders, you will notice other females will need new Type 3 compatible textures.

To fix female Ghouls for Type 3:

BEWARE OF GIRL Ghoulishly Gross Skin Replacement Type 3

The Pitt Infected Female Replacer For Type3:

And female Tribals from Point Lookout For Type3:

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7734

If anyone uses those or the Raider ones mentioned above, don't forget to endorse their creators as thanks for their hard work!

Also don't forget to endorse the Type 3 mod as a thank-you to Dimon99 for his hard work in making this great body.

Hope this helps!

Prensa

Okay... as odd as this is going to sound... it seems that the dimonized Type 3 body is causing the problem in male bodies. I'm... not sure how.
