strace44
Hello- I posted this help request as a comment for "Reflex Armor S-07 for TYPE 3 a Mantis Retexture", but the creator of this mod on the New Vegas Nexus wasn't the original author -- it was ported from Fallout 3. Since I don't necessarily expect anyone reading those comments to have any insight on this problem, I'm reposting it here. I'm having some trouble with this; both this mod and the original Zero Suit. When I'm zooming in while in first person view' date=' my character's feet show up in my field of vision. This only happens with this armor, and it only happens with certain weapons. If I do this:[list'][*]Change to first person[*]Equip a Varmint Rifle[*]Unholster the rifle[*]Holster the rifle again[*]Right-click to zoom in while still in first person I see this: http://i.imgur.com/Lam5Xl.jpg If I change the FOV to 30, I see this instead: http://i.imgur.com/fZGg8l.jpg The Mercenary's Grenade Rifle shows me this (again, FOV 30): http://i.imgur.com/MsXtXl.jpg I know it's the character's feet, because I switched the textures in the GECK and saw the new texture when I repeated the above. I don't know what I recently installed to cause this, but it happened again after doing a clean reinstallation of New Vegas and then loading only this mod. It drives me crazy, because this is my favorite armor. It doesn't seem to happen with pistols or melee weapons, just some rifles and shotguns. Does anyone know anything about the character model that's used in first person view and how to stop this from happening? I get some interesting results with tweaking the field of view and zooming in with a rifle unholstered -- feet seem to be a bit more visible with this armor than others. I know next to nothing about 3D modeling and the required tools (Blender, NifSkope, etc.), so I'm a bit limited in what I've been able to figure out so far. I love this armor; along with the Project Nevada implants, it lets me role-play an Institute operative from the future who was accidentally sent back in time and decides to take over the Mojave Wasteland through superior technology. EDIT: At least I figured out why I never noticed this before and why I couldn't figure out what I changed to cause this. I had just started a new game, which is why I was testing this with a Varmint Rifle. I'd started using this armor in the middle of my last game, when I was far enough along to use a Sniper Rifle and Anti-Materiel Rifle. This problem does not occur with the better rifles, so this isn't nearly as big a deal. Edited June 22, 2011 by strace44
nivea
In nifskope select the feet mesh, you will see in the block details:Name -> String -> the name of the feet right click the name of the feet and edit string index, type in UpperbodyThen go Spells -> Batch -> Update Tangent Space Save Check and see if that helps, it should make it not render
