Fallout user controlled weather

Basicly, a fallout mod that has a user interface. with it you should be able to control all forms of weather based on various circumstances. For example, time of day, day of the week, morning or night and other conditional influxes like random percentage. The user should also have the ability to turn on/off types of weather as well. This mod should override the vanilla weather systems in the game.

Some of the weather types that should be included: rad storms, dust storms, fogg, cloudy, rain, snow, rad snow, thunderstorms, sunny. All the vanilla weather patterns as well. Then the user picks what weather he or she wants over all, then what percentile chance that weather affects the game on each day and night. This way the game no-longer uses areas for weather and it feels like it transitions from one area to the next with out it feeling out of place.

It sounds like you have a very specific and detailed mod in mind.....in which case it might make more sense for you to do this yourself, if you can. That way you can tweak and customize it to the Nth degree. JIP's plugin has a lot of weather functions;

ClimateAddWeatherType
ClimateRemoveWeatherType
GetClimateNightSkyModel
GetclimateNthWeatherChance
GetClimateNthWeatherGlobal
GetClimateNumWeatherTypes
GetClimateSunGlareTexture
GetClimateSunTexture
GetClimateTraitNumeric
GetCurrentWeather
GetWeatherImageSpaceMod
GetWeatherPrecipitationModel
GetWeatherRGBColor
GetWeatherTexture
GetWeatherTraitNumeric
SetClimateNightSkyModel
SetClimateSunGlareTexture
SetClimateSunTexture
SetClimateTraitNumeric
SetWeatherImageSpaceMod
SetWeatherPrecipitationModel
SetWeatherRGBColor
SetWeatherTexture
SetWeatherTraitNumeric

As a lore friendly explanation you could make a portable weather control device to find in OWB's X-17 meteorological station. The tech they were using "ended in a disaster, spawning the horrible dust storms for which the Divide is infamous.". It can't be any more scientifically implausible (at least to our universe's laws of physics) than the OWB Transportalponder. And besides OWB is all about technology gone amok.

This is the closest you'll get http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42180/? .

Just as a side note,it doesn't make sense that it would snow in the Mojave.

As far as the snow concept is concerned, its just an optional weather. if there is a weather out there it should be in the mod. What if the person who's playing the game is playing a mod that makes the entire mohave into a nuclear winter and then the weather mod does not have that option available? I mean the point is this, if there is a type of weather out there in the game. Then you should be able to use it. Considering this is an alternate reality of our own, who's to say what kind of weather is appropriate for the Mohave? Also deserts drop in temperature to the point that its below freezing at nights. The reason they tend not to snow is not do to temperature but rather the lack of moisture in the air. I am merely trying to suggest that a weather mod be made to fully augment a game in any way shape or form that the user can define. Its not about what is Lore friendly or not. Its about what is optional. With a weather mod such as this idea you could play a entirely Lore friendly game. You could also play a post apocalyptic nightmare of constant rad-storms. Or you could play it like a nuclear winter wonder land. Or go all fogg and dust storms and make it feel like silent hill. The point is that its a mod concept the makes the user have the power to play in a fashion that suits their play through.

The weather settings aren't going to get you a snowy environment/local like Jacobstown. All the snow on the ground is done in the geck's landscaping tool, and it's not like a discreet form ID that you can enable or disable to have appear/disappear (to the best of my knowledge). So something like a nuclear winter landscape isn't possible with these functions. The functions listed in my first post and the vanilla functions are the tools you have available. I wanted to make sure you understood the parameters of a mod like this.

Its not about what is Lore friendly or not. Its about what is optional.

It's not so hard to be lore friendly, the OWB idea in my first post does the trick nicely.

If I have the time and the energy/inclination, I'll try and put together a modest example. However if anyone want's to jump in and tackle the project they are more than welcome, since I have no idea when I might get to it.
