Stealth Boy armor mod won't go away: NOT the vanishing Pip-Boy bug.

I've had the vanishing Pip-Boy thing, this is different.

 

I built the Stealth Boy mod into one of my power armor suits. But now when my character is out of power armor altogether, the Stealth field still shows up when she crouches. The Pip-Boy goes stealth also, but not invisible; you can still see the object, but with the watery transparency effect. In two forms: either the screen is transparent with the lettering, or invisible altogether.

 

When this character is in another suit of power armor without the Stealth Boy mod, crouching is normal. But once outside the non-modded armor, crouching still activates the Stealth field.

 

Any ideas how to get rid of this?

Bit of a necro but I have the same bug. I'll look into it and see if I can find anything.

Probably because it doesn't appear that any actual mods are causing the problem. The Stealth Boy mod for power armor is built into the vanilla game.

I have never used a Stealth Boy mod and if my companions get into power armor they become invisible. When I fast travel they usually become visible for a minute or so.
