I just installed obse and decided to check it out, my game isnt frozen, rather.. no HUD, the graphics are see-through and my toons face is invisible! Like all I see is his hair, eyebrows, eyes and his teeth.. Man, this is gonna give me nightmares lol, can someone explain to me what is going on.. did I do something wrong.. I was going to remove all the files I put in but I want to wait till I get a reply. I have read that after loading the game for the first time after installing OBGE, you will have to wait for everything to load or whatever... How long is this wait.. I'm pushing on 5-10 minutes of waiting :/

The first time you install OBGE and load, the game should appear to be frozen for a bit until everything finishes (afterward, you should disable any you don't want outside of the game). How exactly did you install OBGE (i.e. where did you put everything, are you using a shaderlist.txt yet since the in-game tool doesn't appear to work in newer versions)?

What you described is certainly odd, though, I have to say. OBGE doesn't affect models, only shaders. When I first loaded the game, it looked odd enough but mostly just involved extremely low FPS and lots of fog, not missing stuff. Is OBGE the only mod you've recently installed? (Disable the ESP, by the way, it causes more issues than anything.)

wow! quick reply! I love you! xDD Anyway, same way I've been installing mods when OBMM doesnt do it for me, manually. Um...... shaderlist...?

Just want to point out that EVERRYTHING was fine up to the point where I installed everything on the Deadly Reflex mod page (the list of required mods to make DR possible) Now, I also TRIED to install that bash thing and it just wont work and a error comes out that it cant detect the game path of something. That is why I manually installed OBGE

OBGE requires special installation, i.e. you don't just dump it entirely under Data. Let's see if I dig up the help documents to find the installation...

First, do you have both the OBGE core AND the shaders pack? They tend to be separately downloaded.

Second, do you have OBSE installed, plus updated DirectX drivers? (The latter tends to be a given, but you never know.)

Here's what the doc says on installing it:

" 1. If you have obge.dll or DepthTest.dll in your Data/OBSE/plugins folder, remove them.

2. Extract the contents of the OBGEv2 Core package to your Oblivion\Data directory. Answer yes to any merge or overwrite prompts.

The files in the "Extras" folder are:

* d3dx9_31.dll - If you are using the legacy compiler and your game crashes, move this to your Oblivion game folder.

* d3dx9_41.dll - If when you launch Oblivion, the shaders you have applied have no visible effect, and your OBGEv2.log reports that this file is missing, move it to your Oblivion game folder.

* textures and shaders folders - These contain some example shaders that can be useful in testing that OBGEv2 works and are also useful examples for writing shaders. You don't need to install them to use OBGEv2."

If you're using a mod that requires OBGE (like Realistic Health) you'll have to rename the OBGEv2.dll to just plain obge.dll so it'll recognize that it's there.

There should be a "shaders" folder in Oblivion/data now. In that folder should be all the OBGE shaders, plus maybe a few others from Oblivion and other mods. Create a txt file (easiest with notepad), name it shaderlist, and then type in each shader file you want to use (including the .fx extension). For example, mine looks like this:

obsharpen.fx

NormalFilterAA.fx

ColorEffects.fx

godrays.fx

I would advise against using redundant shaders, like multiple SSAO effects.

I know that a lot of that was a bit far ahead and maybe unrelated to the problem, but it helps to have as much info as possible both in the problem and in the solution.

Edit: Wow, I must've taken a long time to type that. It sounds like the problem could be unrelated to OBGE. I have little experience with DR and many horror stories of it conflicting with mods or not being installed properly, so I won't further comment in regards to that.

bash isnt the issue.. regardless mopy is in the main folder along with data, lex, src, etc. I just tried turning off all the mods and opening the game and still.. my toon has a see through face and semi see througawh body, graphics around him (the prison) some are kinda see through too, like random spots on the way you exit your cell through..

Does DR actually require Bash?

I use Windows 7 and have no issue with Bash, but I don't seem to have the over-aggressive Windows security on my computer either. It's recommended that you install Oblivion outside of Program Files if you have issues with Windows Vista/7 doing that kind of thing.
