Become a Guard

I'm aware of the following mod on Steam Workshop, but it's old, and somewhat Baby's first mod feeling. Plus it only lets you "arrest" people and other effects done exclusively through spells. I'd love to see a more Hunterborn/Frostfall level of detail in a Guard mod, something where you have to apply to the Guard captain, you may or may not get the job, you get paid daily with bonuses based on how well you do and which hold your a guard for, you can randomly get sent out to raid bandit camps with other guards, and sometimes a good bandit raid hits the city, of course random drunken brawls and petty thievery will still be part of your duty.

It would also be interesting to have a side mechanic where an NPC dragonborn takes the players place and advances the main quest at random thus causing more unique story driven changes to your daily routine, maybe you'll be part of the party that investigates the Watch tower in Whiterun, or gets sent to Riverwood, maybe you got transferred to Winterhold because you didn't want to look the other way working in Riften. Or you could be a corrupt guard making a killing by shaking people down in Riften or Markarth, maybe even try shaking down in more reputable holds with less success.

Each city would have different rules and your schedule will vary widely. Holds like Whiterun, Markarth, Riften, and Solitude would demand you adhere to a dress code, wearing a uniform, Solitude being the strictest. Whiterun and Riften would be among the least to care about uniform. Backwater cities like Falkreath, Winterhold and Morthal would be less likely to enforce a uniform. With Winterhold not caring in the least.

You could get randomly selected to collect taxes from citizens, which varies in difficulty from city to city, more corrupt cities like Markarth and Riften would see a deal of resistance or reluctance to pay taxes, where Solitude and Whiterun wouldn't be so against paying their due. Poor cities would be the most difficult but you wouldn't be penalized for failing to collect a quota in cities like Winterhold.
