The "it always happens to me!" thread

I agree with Sojiro.

I have another one. Whenever I do the Claviwhateverhisnameis Daedric Shrine to get Umbra and give it or dont, when I speak with the shrine, no matter what I choose, five seconds after I stop talking to the shrine, it freezes. >:( >:(

Also, I never get away with the shrine where you cast Stark Reality on the Countess of Leyawiin. Even if I'm invisable. >:(

CTD.....

It wouldn't be a TES game without that um... feature. Happens to me once in a while, usually when I haven't saved for an hour or so.

Ditto. Except I had 100% chameleon active at the time. That's supposed to be foolproof.

Big Head's Fork of Horripilation quest in SI. I swear that lizard has a death wish or something as he's usually either dead

or fighting with a Dark Seducer when I get back with the Fork... I managed to eventually complete it and was utterly disappointed

with the reward. If I want training I can go to the Fighter's guild or whack some critters for free.

Perhaps I'll modify the Fork of Horripilation into the Fork of Awesome and keep it for myself instead. (If you hate it, mod it)

Shadow over Hackdirt is another annoyance. Somehow I get a 1000 gold bounty for killing those wretched Brethren nearly every time.

I still don't understand how that happens... in a cave... under a village populated by creepy evil people.

I can never get back to town on time to sell stuff after a big Alyeid ruin or fort adventure. I'm lugging everything I can with my puny 44 strength and Ease Burden spell and just want to dump the loot but sure enough I get back and it's after 9pm and everything is closed. So normally I spend 10 hours waiting around for shop owners. I think the Thieves guild has better hours but this character is not joining at this point.

I really like seeing

"You are over-encumbered."

followed by

"You don't have enough room to drop that item." WHAT????

The worst for me is when I'm running a quest that requires me to follow someone else to a location. Something always happens along the way which draws that somebody into a battle which I (as a relatively weak-in-HP stealth character) cannot possibly hope to win. That's not so bad when the character to be followed is essential, but when they're not...

Also, storms are a big one for me. Every time the game loads, it seems to be raining- even if it was sunny when I saved. Not only that, but it just goes on raining for days at a time- no matter where I travel to (unless it's somewhere snowy). I don't have a high-end system (which probably means the game does it out of spite), so rain can really screw things up for me.

I've also had a bit of trouble with creatures following me for excessively long periods of time. I've had a wolf prevent me from sleeping, repairing, etc. because it had decided to tail me from the Imperial City to Anvil. I wasn't even sure what was following me at first, as I had a speed stat decidedly in excess of anything in the game save for M'aiq, so towards the end of my journey (after trying periodically to repair my gear and sleep at camps I'd cleared out only to get the "enemies in the area" message) I just stopped in place and waited for it to catch up. It took that stupid wolf ten freaking real-world minutes to find me. I've also had Minotaurs from Harcane grove follow me all the way to the Imperial City gate. Something similar happens to me just about every other time I play, though not quite to that extent every time. It isn't uncommon, however, for an enemy to follow from its spawn/patrol area at, say, the Witch's house from the Vamp quest all the way back down to the Niben.

I have a nasty habit of attracting Will-o-the-Wisps at low levels along my Leyawiin to Bravil travels. If for this very reason that I don't use any City Guard mods, because they always remove the Silver weapons from the Bravil guards and it ends up costing the whole town their lives :(

I also have a habit of surviving certain traps and getting projected out of the level >_<

  • 3 weeks later...

I can deal with getting disarmed and things following me excessive distances, but wat really is the most annoying thing is when ur on a quest and there is someone who needs to survive and there weak then u get into a fight and they run straight at the enemy and ur about to do a big power attack and..BAM..they decide taking an axe to the back of the head is the best way to complete the mission.

Ok. So i rambled on a bit. But seriously, this happens to me way too often

I also hate having 125% resist disease and somehow managing to contract pyrophoric haemophilia. If anything, the damn vampires ought to infect themselves with a value like that (and become some kind of ungodly uber double vampire).
