Underworld Feral Ghoul City... Why Am I Attacked?!

I am very confused and tried to find some help on the internet but to no avail. I came to the Museum and found the Underworld city of ghouls. I entered and when I stepped through the doors I am immediately in conversation with a ghoul and his welcome party. OK I talk and find out as much as I can. When I say "Have to go now" all the ghouls draw down on me and open fire :banghead: !! WTH?!? My karma is good and can't figure out why they always attack me. I tried waiting a couple of days too and its still the same thing. How can I enter the Underworld city, explore, and use what it has to offer? Are there any console commands to force the ghouls to be my allies so they don't attack me? I am at a loss. Please help.

You may have selected a bad option for speech, try reloading the game to the closest time you came in contact with the ghouls and select other speech options. Or you may have killed someone earlier that angered the ghouls.

 

If you cannot reverse them attacking you, just make a forceful entry and kill everyone in there. I did that with Paradise Falls. . .

Mudaquil is on to something here.

Take into consideration that all ghouls, civil ones as feral ones are mutated abominations that has managed to stick to life like strawberry jam to cotton linnen. They are no immediate threat to your total domination of the wastes, but eventually You should help out the Darwinists a little bit, and purge these creatures. Hmm, come to think of it, maybe you could sell them to Paradise Falls. Might get a few caps for them.

Personally I have been to busy fighting Enclaves, Outcasts, and of lately the BoS is starting to get uppety. When I, in alliance with the new soviet comrades have beaten Bos to a pulp, I can start mopping up stragglers like the slavers and ghouls. Much work to be done.
