xelliotx
So I just got new vegas.... I have no idea what mods to get, or how to install them really, if anybody would be able to help that would be great :)
pickinthebanjo
Well your going to just have figure which mods you would like to use, I do not use many myself. I use AWOP, Inreased Wasteland Spawns, Monster Mod, a few different weather/environment mods and many weapons mods including those that I released. Installation is fairly simple, most mod pages will give you directions/instructions on how to do it but for the most part it is a simple matter of copying the contents of the mod you downloaded into your fallout new vegas folder, then when you load the New Vegas launcher choose the .esp's that you want to load. amullinix
Checkout Cyberweasel's thread (in Mod talk) or you can check the link in my signature block. At the moment, I recommend looking at Cyber's thread. Mine needs to be cleaned up. Both will give a list of recommended mods though. Have fun! PowderdToastMan
start with this:http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38132Its a one stop shop instuction manual for instructions on creating your mesh and text folders and activating archive invalidation. it should also instruct you to download and install fallout mod manager here:http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36901 about 10 percent of the mods in here use nvse. to be more accurate, about 80 percent of the good mods on here require nvse.you can download and install it for free here:http://nvse.silverlock.org/ if you have more questions, shoot me a message
NorthWolf
Mods are entirely a matter of personal taste. If you want to see what people like, check out mods on the Nexus in order of endorsements or downloads. The mod list threads people link you here will generally also list some less-known modifications that tend to be high quality, they just haven't really come to the knowledge of the public or have specific quirks that appeal to a small demographic (but are nonetheless worthy of attention). You will at least want one UI modification that makes the interface PC-friendly. No matter who you are or what you like or what you want the game to be there's absolutely no reason not to get a UI modification since it just makes the menus a lot more navigable. I use Darnified UI, I think. I could be wrong. It was the first thing I ever installed for the game so I sort of forget. :pinch:
