Fallout4.ini not being recognised by NMM

Hi, so I've just performed a fresh install of both Fallout 4 and NMM on a new PC.

Fallout 4 is installed on the SSD, and NMM on the HDD. NMM's virtual install folder for Fallout is located on the SSD though.

Fallout 4 had been launced, and has both Fallout4.ini and the Prefs.ini, but when running NMM it comes up with a message saying the .ini doesn't exist, and I need to run the game to create one.

Is anyone else having (or did in the past) this problem. If so, do you have any solutions on how to fix it?

Further still, after uninstalling NMM and reinstalling through different pathways (everything on the SSD now), I'm getting this error message along with the no ini. found one: "unable to get write permissions for C:Games/Nexus Mod Manager/Fallout 4/Install Info".

Any suggestions? This is driving me up the wall - I've never had problems with NMM like this before...

Nah you don't have to completely re-install. Just cut and paste it somewhere else as a backup. Make sure to get fallout4.ini and the various others like fallout4custom and fallout 4 prefs out of there. Also cut and paste the fallout4exe. Then, go into steam and select "Verifiy game cache" it will rewrite those missing files without taking 5 hours to download and install.
