SpartanG01
I was wondering which mods work (before anyone posts saying they don't I already know they do. I know for a fact that any mod that uses stock game resources and doesn't replace textures probably works) my question here is does anyone have experience doing this by converting pc game saves to xbox saves and what are some of the mods you know work from experience. I just got the GOTY edition for 360 since my pc I use to play Oblivion took a crap and I'm just trying to limit some frustrating trial and error
micalov
Console modding isnt allowed on nexus because breaks the MS and Sony EULA/Opens Nexus upto being sued. Dark0ne explains it better here: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/369524-console-modding-is-not-supported-here/
SpartanG01
Ah my bad, ignore that then I didn't realize. My apologies. As a side note having read that, console modding is actually endorsed by Bethesda they released a statement with the upcoming release of Skyrim saying they are working very hard on making user created content available to console users but that it is Microsoft and Sony standing in the way no doubt afraid of how that would affect DLC sales. That being said gamesave modding doesn't break the TOS or EULA as far as I know. Microsoft allows gamesave transfers and downloads from device to device and in that inherently supports access to the saves I would assume. I've never seen anything in the TOS released with the dashboard update concerning the new gamesave to usb transfer ability that said anything about altering the files. micalov
Well dont know the specifics on save game modding V EULA, maybe one of the staff could clarify if save game modding IS allowed? but would air on the side of caution, which you have done anyway. SpartanG01
Yeah of course, I wasn't saying you guys should support it, I guess I was just thinking outloud lol no real point just forwarding the information. I could also be wrong though, and it could have been updated after the rash of save game modding that lead to the corrupt leaderboards of many online games though most of that was through GDP modding which is no longer possible. micalov
Well, hopefully beth will get there wish and convince Sony/MS to make it so mods can be used on console, kind of feel sorry for console users and what there missing out on :/
SpartanG01
It's an issue of game integrity I suppose. Bethesda is worried that certain user created content could destroy or otherwise damage a players game save. Though I question that a bit... they obviously don't worry about it with PC gamers. I ruined hundreds of gamesaves installing incompatible mods and they never stepped in lol. I'm much more apt to believe that both Microsoft and Sony are worried about losing out on DLC sales if enough user generated content is available that customers who would otherwise have no choice but to purchase content would actually have a choice between official DLC and user generated content (which imo shouldn't be an issue because the Bethesda created DLC's are by far the best mods I've been able to find and a lot if not the majority of user mod content now relies on game data from the official DLC's) if anything having user content that expands on DLC content would just make me more apt to purchase DLC content, not that I wouldn't be purchasing it anyway. I love Bethesda games and the Bethesda content and enjoy supporting them as a developer. Save Dragon Age. I hate that game. With a fiery passion. With a fiery passion.Well, Dragon Age was produced by BioWare, not beth ;) Its not entirely because of the game manufacturers. Its also because M$ and Sony are against modding the consoles themselves. Even to the point that if it detects modifications that it can brick the gamedeck  Even tho the thread has drifted from it, and there's some informative info in here... we don't allow deck mod talk, so I'm afraid that I have to close the thread. But if you guys wanna continue the convo, you're more than welcome to take it to the PM system. ;) [/thread]
