Screenshots

Ok, so, I don't know if this belongs under Technical Support, 'cause it's not a really big problem, but Discussion seems to be more about the game in general. Correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Ok, so, I know that you can take bitchin', high-quality screenshots by pressing [Print Screen] while in game with Steam on PC. Kicks in ENBs and such.

 

The problem is, I can't find the damn screenshots. Specifically, I can't find them with Windows 10. I've found support for Windows 7, but nothing for Windows 10 at all. Can anyone point me in the direction.

Try the main fallout 4 game folder or check somewhere in the steam\userdata folders

Checked all up in there, no sign of it at all.

Where is Your steam installation located?

If it's in progam files then it might be a problem with access rights when it tries to save, windows 10 is pretty picky with that.

I have my steam install on just c:\steam and my screenshots are saved to the main game folder.

 

 

Another option is use explorer go to Your main drive and use the search field in the top right corner and search for screenshot1.png as fallout saves it as

screenshot2.png

screenshot3.png

 

and so on.

I've tried the Explorer option, though I can't remember if I specified with the .png or not.

I came on here tonight to post a question about screenshots, maybe I can just ask you guys. When I take screenshots by going into the console and inputting "screenshot," it takes one but it shows the console. (So image is very dark with console commands showing.) It was my understanding this command would work and the console wouldn't be showing in the resulting image, but it is. If I use print screen I just get a black image. I tried typing "tm" in the console to turn off the hud, then typing screenshot and hitting enter (can't see it on the screen), but it's not taking the screenshot. Or at least not saving it in the same place as my other console-ridden shots.

Any ideas how I can get a good shot without the console showing?

Unless you WaReZed or torrented your game(and maybe even if you did) you should be able to take screenshots using the steam overlay and simply hitting F12
