Game crashes/hangs whenever I install mods

Greetings everyone!

 

I recently bought and installed FO4 and the game runs great. So I start looking to add mods to my game and have a few that I really liked. I used the NMM to download and install each mod. Each mod installation went without a hitch.

 

I started the game and the troubles began. I have two scenarios that occur.

 

1. The game crashes to desktop as soon as I click PLAY.

 

or

 

2. The screen goes black and the blue spinning ring just hangs there in an eternal loading mode.

 

 

I have disabled all mods and have each one active alone to see which may be the culprit. And its every single one. No matter which mod I try to use, the game doesn't respond.

 

• I am running on Win10
• I have opted out of the beta
• Intergrity Verfication is successful (with no errors)

Any help into this matter is greatly appreciated. And many thanks in advance.

First: immediate crash looks like a "missing master" for one of your mods.

For example: You install a texture-mod for a custom weapon, but dont install the weapon itself. The texture-mod states, it needs the weapon as its master-mod, but FO4 cant find it -> crash (yes a message would be nice, blame bethesda)

 

Second:

DONT!! disabel mods in Nexus Mod Manager. It will leave the data in the game-directory, and FO4 will be confused.

If you want to get rid of a mod (even temp) uninstall it.

Thank you Sharra. I have fully deleted the mods from NMM and had only one in there to test it and I get the same hanging results. This is getting rather frustrating especially since I have added mods with Skyrim without any troubles and the game play was perfect. It seems FO4 is extremely picky about something I have or haven't done.

Try this: remove ALL mods, and then verify the data with steam, start the game, without mods, and verify it runs. Then make the changes to the ini, and try it without any mod installed. If all runs fine, try to install a simple mod (like adding a single shirt or something). If it fails, try to install the mod from hand, without nexus manager, and try again. Maybe its related to NMM.
