Stumped...no mods work.

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I've looked through the forums extensively and haven't found anyone else with the same problem as me, which makes me worry that I'm just doing something stupid, but I did at least give it an honest attempt. I put in two mods, being the UI tweaks and the minimap north indicator. I followed the instructions and double and triple checked, but there is no indication of them. My game just goes on as if nothing was changed. What am I doing wrong here?

Some relevant information for you:

- I have the Steam version of this game

- Steam is installed on my D drive, a separate disk from where my OS was installed. There is no Program Files(x86)\Witcher 2 directory. Only D:\....\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher 2\CookedPC

- I have both .dzip files in the CookedPC folder (does that name bother anyone else?)

- There is no .swf file in the CookedPC\globals\gui folder

- I even renamed the mods with an Underscore (_mod*.dzip) to try and put them first, alphabetically

- I'm actually not sure what version my game is. I'm assuming 1.2 because it is from Steam

- I installed these mods after I began a game

I'll try to answer other questions as best I can. I'd like to think I'm pretty savvy with computers. Thank you to anyone/everyone who helps out with this!

Ive only just came across this website, but i would like to point out, theres a whole load of mods that have just been released such as scabbard mod and flash mod, and they are actually made for "THE WITCHER" not "The Witcher II" and its not very clear at all for what game the mods are actually for. They turn up when you google search for "the witcher II mods"

Why they are still releasing mods for the first version of the game, right now, i have no idea. its a bit late.

This might make it a little easier to distinguish one from the other http://www.witchernexus.com/downloads/ . Believe it or not there are people just now finding out about witcher 1 . I still play it even after 2 years and still enjoy it . Some of the mods for witcher 1 no longer have working links that can be found and are stored on hard drives that are uploaded here for others to enjoy that may not have found them otherwise . While there are a few new ones most are older ones . Hope this explains it a little bit .
