The Staff Is Oversensitive

Numerous members have been banned on grounds of "flaming", "trolling", and things of that variety. Some of these bans are justified. Some merely only said "i dislike mod X". And of this latter group, most have been perma'd, no warning, no appeal. Just because they don't like anime mods. Over half of them were even being completely civil about it, not even using profanity. I bet at least two of them even contributed something widely praised by the community.

This prevents progress. Not only for the members who are now banned, but for the modders - as even the slightest hint of criticism is immediately censored away and the critic banned, without the modder even knowing he was criticised. A mod could be truly horrible, but it will never be improved because if someone tries to say "Next time, do X instead of Y, it causes less of negative effect Z", some staffer is going to have a temper tantrum and obliterate the critic off the face of the Nexus.

Should these staffers be fired? Not necessarily. Should everyone banned for flaming/trolling be unbanned? Not my call, but I will say that you can always reban the true offenders when they rise again. Should the flaming/trolling rule be removed? No. Should it's enforcement be loosened? Yes, greatly.

I agree, but unfortunately you will be banned probably, as will I for agreeing.

Actually you violated the terms of service just by starting and posting in this thread.

Nexus site staff

Nexus sites are owned and maintained by Robin Scott (member name "Dark0ne"). Robin is regarded as “the law” on Nexus sites and he has the final say on any action that might need to be taken regarding a breach of the terms of service for any Nexus site. What Robin says goes irrespective of whether there has been a breach of the terms of service or not.

Nexus sites and the forums are staffed by un-paid volunteers (known as “moderators” and "staff") who work hard to insure the smooth operation of Nexus sites and encourage a healthy community. The moderators and other admin on the site have been given specific privileges by Robin to keep the site clean of the bad articles listed in these terms and use their own personal judgement, that Robin trusts, to come to decisions.

These moderators have a right to carry out their task without harassment, insult or hassle. Members who believe that a member of staff is not conducting themselves properly should get in contact with Robin via the forums or email. Know that if Robin receives word of any members harassing or being rude to Nexus site staff then he will take every action possible to permanently remove them from his sites.

Now how far do you want to push things.

None intended.

I'm hoping Robin sees this then. I figured it would be better to post it public, then all the moderators would see it and I only need to click one button.

How far do I need to?

That was far enough. Bye now.
