Fad3away
I've played this game for years and never had a problem, I just recently started a new game and have played up to level 5. Now this happens. I remember deleting some .esp files from oblivion mod manager, and I think I might've deleted something that I wasn't supposed to...maybe. Yes I checked, my master files are checked. I also tried removing all mods and playing it, still no luck. When I load the the autosave it says "none of the master files used in this save game are loaded" and it won't load. So i load a previous save and whenever i go outside from the dungeon I was in, it crashes. So I reloaded the save, and console command transported outside and went in and out a castle and everything was fine. Then I enter a house and the game crashed on me again. I repeated it a second time and went back into the house the crashed on me and it worked. Its random. I also tried deleting the autosave.ess file and renaming the autosave.bak file and it doesn't work. I've reinstalled the game and reinstalled the unoffical patch, and the ob script editor, I'm really upset I put so much time and effort carefully planning my character this time. David Brasher
Sometimes certain savegames get corrupted and cannot be fixed. There is nothing to do but abandon those particular savegames. One approach you could use would be reinstalling all the mods you removed right before the game broke. One possibility is that you are not just facing one problem, you are actually facing two. The problem with missing masters that prevents loading, and then another problem that causes CTDs due to certain localized issues such as missing meshes, excessive polycount, bad scripting, or bad AI.
