Companions use any weapon given?

Im not sure if this mod is already made, but when i give boone a different weapon other than a melee weapons he wont use it, he uses his hunting rifle. Same with veronica, she uses her power fist instead of a range weapon. If anyone has any link please post them. Thanks!
