roquefort
Haven't played in a while now, after playing through the game and continuing on for a couple of months. In the end, though, I just got fed up with the general skankiness & squalor of the interiors and the endless, rock-strewn dreariness of the wasteland and went back to Oblivion, which is not only prettier but has a lot more going on in it, it seems to me. I still check out the Washington burbs and its denizens occasionally, but soon end up wishing someone would just come along and tidy it all up  Edited July 19, 2011 by roquefort
damncrow
I do. Though now I fumble with mods and stuff, it has been a while since the last full playthrough (the only one, too, completely vanilla), so I might start again, now with all the mods I have installed.I haven't actually touched FNV apart from modding visuals of it and I won't until Lonesome Road comes out so I get the complete package (for FO3 I started with GOTY, so it wasn't a problem) Edited July 19, 2011 by damncrow
Rooker75
I play both of them and can't decide which one I like better. I'll play one, then the other, then other stuff for a month or two, then I'll come back and start over.
Lilchewchew
I have to agree with tank441 fo3 still has a better engage story and a good interactivity.I was while ago playing new vegas haven't wait for new dlc ( old world blues )so uninstalled to putt fo3 .And I still prefer the D.C. Capital than the smallest urban part of New Vegas and environment by itself.Of course New Vegas show a better and organize piece of world but very precarious. But it looks like the most fun and superb DLC made to fo3 and new vegas was definitely broken steel, point lookout, the pitt / dead money. Those are my favorites. DerpyDerp12
I just reinstalled FO3 with MMM for the first time, and Wow... I can't believe what I have been missing. The game has gone from a Walk in the Park even on V. Hard to OH S**T THERE ARE 15 FREAKING SUPER MUTANTS AND I AM ONLY LEVEL 5 so now I have to carefully lay mines and draw them into a firing line to explodinate them. Also, Jehrico is by far the most likeable NPC.

totootwo
Fallout 3 has a more engaging storyline, better characters, more interesting area, enough mods to close any weapon / perk gap. New Vegas has better graphics, and better mechanics (aiming down the sights, implants, gambling, different currencies). For me, I started playing Fallout 3 after I finished New Vegas again a few weeks ago. Fallout 3 really seems to have a lot more replayability. New Vegas has two directions: North (The Strip), and South (Basically nothing). There's not really anything to see if you wander around, the entire game is based on essentially a single circular road, if you pick the Legion you miss out on probably 30 quests in favor of maybe 3, so you basically have to be NCR. Fallout 3 you can go back and forth between add-ons, instead of a one-time adventure and peace out. Point Lookout is like it's own game, compare the amount of content it adds (like 3 main quests + fully explorable world) to Dead Money, which has 1 samey retexture for the entire exterior, and a 15 minute trek through the casino, rewarded with 10,000 Pre-War money (100,000 caps) which don't weigh anything. Iunno, I definitely think New Vegas is gunna get really good as time goes on and mods just get incredible (Fallout 3 has 3 years of mods backing it up, versus under a year for New Vegas), but right now it's like a 20 hour main quest with static menial npcs. bushwack
I've starting to play Fallout 3 again, this time with FWE and MMM. I had 200+ hrs in (pre-FNV) without those mods, but decided to mix it up a bit this time running F3 with SoftTH on 3 monitors. Game is unstable. Even with only 1 monitor the game is crashing with these mods after 5-minutes. Sad face involved. Trying to figure out the issue... Yes, I to prefer F3 over FNV. F3 makes me think of the bleak aftermath of nuclear war. New Vegas makes me think of a old deserted, um desert. Nothing there makes me think there has been a nuclear holocaust except the outskirts of NV which is 5% of the game. I did like FNV, but F3 was so much more engulfing , I can only hope the people who made F3 are involved in F4, the desert makes for rather boring setting. Fallout New York Please!!!!!!!!!! soot00
Fallout New Vegas is sort of a continuation of Fallout 1 and 2. If you haven't played these or didn't like 1 or 2, you probably won't like New Vegas either. Fallout 3 is great because you start off as a baby being born so you sort of get immersed with your character right away.....
