Market vendor immersion.

a guy a while ago suggested an idea on being able to loot store merchants store items after killing the merchants. But, I suggested improvements on that idea. So I figured I would suggest a mod that would overhaul the merchants giving new life to the Mohave.

 

First, all vanilla store merchants should be essential unless there is a vanilla quest to kill said merchant. Store merchants will be given shifts. During which time they will be replaced with a store clerk who sells various items. These store clerks will also have their own shifts but will not be essential. Giving the player the ability to kill them if they want without affecting any vanilla npcs merchants.However I feel they should still affect a persons karma. These npcs will also have their own repeatable quest lines. These clerks also should be set to re-spawn. Thus letting players do quests that may or may not conflict with each set of npc merchant. For example, merchant A requests the player do a couple tasks then requests you ice his competitors. Thus now you may have to go kill a npc merchant and return with proof of his or hers death. Things of that sort. Then a couple weeks go by and a new merchant re-spawns in the old dead merchants spot none the wiser that said merchant was killed by you. Thus he may give you quests as well. The quest lines he gives will be based on the store he works at. Giving each store a reason to go back to aside from the usual buy this sell that mentality. If the shop keepers had their own personalities via dialog it would go really far towards making in-depth immersion for each city. Maybe give them idle banter, or town gossip to chat about.

 

The traveling merchants should not be part of this. As they move from location to location.
