Someone please shed some light on this. What is it exactly, how is it used properly (screenies in mod readme's usually have a different interface than what I find on omm)?

I am about to reinstall EVERYTHING AGAIN and want to make this as clean as possible because I have spent almost as much time loading the game and mods as I have playing (that's absurd considering I have hundreds of hours of game time - ok so I haven't spent that long loading and modding but consider I've been trying to get this to work properly without crashing since Wednesday night and its Saturday afternoon now).

Also, is there anything I should consider when loading ooo and mmm? I know that mmm for ooo is dependant on ooo being loaded first but last time I installed, mmm was an esm and ooo was an esp?????

Thank you so much for responding to this thread, I really want to get this install right this time so any useful tidbits you are willing to share are appreciated (I am installing all the usual suspects as far as big one's, ooo, qtpIII, mmm, obse, streamline, etc. and many many little ones but I will stick to mainstream mods, top 150, hall of fame and many downloads with no or little comment complaints, at least for now).

Hek, if we can get enough responses here, we can always change the title to what to do and what not to do when reinstalling everything for the millionth time!

Thanks again, really.

OK, there are basically 3 ways to approach ArchiveInvalidation.txt that I've seen.

1) Create ArchiveInvalidation.txt with just the following in it:

DistantLOD/ \s

LSData/ \s

meshes/ \s

Music/ \s

Shaders/ \s

Textures/ \s

Video/ \s

2) Use a utility which automatically generates ArchiveInvalidation.txt. AutoArchiveInvalidation is one such utility.

3) Use ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated!, which is a mod which when properly installed is supposed to make ArchiveInvalidation.txt obsolete.

I personally use #3 and I haven't noticed any issues.
