xGunner1
OBGE standalone effects is not working for me. After I load my saved game I can initially see the OBGE effects working properly but at this time my screen is frozen(loading something else it seems) and after it's done loading whatever the screen unfreezes but the standalone effects from OBGE disappears! Any tips on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated
branfordcole
sounds like the shaders from the shaderlist are being loaded, and then all the shaders are loaded again for the plugin, which cancels out the original shaders. you can fix this one of two ways: (bad way)- manually enable the shaders by going into your item menu, finding the "obgev2 support" item (I forget exactly what it's called but you'll know it when you see it) in your misc. items, clicking on it, then exiting the menu. this should bring up a list of all your effects (shaders). hold the shift key and click on a shader to enable it. (good way)- make sure the effects you want are listed in the shaderlist.txt file. this can be found in the Oblivion/Data/Shaders/ folder. make sure you are choosing just the effects that you want, and that they are in the proper load order (this may require a small amount of research - or if they were working previously, you can try just leaving shaderlist.txt as is).- go into whatever program you are using to load plugins (Oblivion Launcher, Oblivion Mod Manager, Wrye Bash, etc.) and disable the "OBGE support plugin" (again, I don't remember the exact name, but you'll know it when you see it). - that should take care of the problem, and as a bonus you won't have to wait while your game freezes to load all the shaders every time you load a new file. if that doesn't take care of it, then something else might be going wrong, in which case - good luck, you are beyond my expertise. also, be aware that not all of the effects are working with the most recent version of obge. for example, I can't get cel shading - my favorite :( - to work at all, and I know I'm not the only one. Tried the good way method and it still doesn't seem to work. Disabled the support plugin and used the shaderlist.txt. I'm able to move around with the effects on after I load my saved game for about three seconds than the game freezes for a bit(probably loading something else) and when the game unfreezes the effects/shaders are gone. Tried the bad way method and it works! Though I much rather use the good method if possible. It seems whatever is loaded in the beginning gets rid of the effects.....
