Fatalmasterpiece
They would make more sense if you were able to join a Raider faction rather than the MM and dominate the commonwealth with an army of raiders.
Raycheetah
Personally I could've lived without the arenas even in the DLC, and I doubt I'll ever use them much. "Join the Minutemen! We'll build entire houses for you, keep your settlements safe and rescue your friend after he gets kidnapped by raiders every five minutes... oh and we'll likely make you fight in hellish, never ending death battles against various creatures, and if you're lucky maybe even your own relatives." Personally I think a DLC focusing on arena battles (if there was a large desire for that among the fans) would've been a lot better if you were able to reopen the Combat Zone and manage it, eventually generating income and attracting large, non-raider crowds, instead of creating blood sport arenas all across the commonwealth. That's the venting I wanted to do.I concur. ='[.]'=
TheOriginalEvilD
I would have been happy with an arena like Oblivion had where the player fought, but honestly there's just no point in me setting up a fight against anything since I can just go out and scavenge and get into plenty fights. I also think there's some real untapped potential in the Combat zone for this. That could've been the place for this.
Caspella
"Join the Minutemen! Even if this game didn't force you to play a good character (compared to 3 and NV) I always choose to. I was always wasteland Jesus. I'm not gonna feed my settlers to deathclaws. So I'm just building an arena with a pit in the center, and it has a wire mesh floor with trap doors several floors up. On that level I have a red powered door on one side and a blue powered door on the other. There is a holding area behind that with gunner cages on one side, and raider cages on the other. Pull one lever and the cages open up so you have a sealed room full of raiders on one side, gunners on other. Pull the other levers and the doors open letting them out into the arena. Hopefully, they will rush out or wander out and attach each other. If any fall through the trapdoors, there are deathclaws etc below. I think this will work, but it's taking so long to get everything set up I can't say for sure yet. Mostly, I'm hoping modders will do cool stuff with this DLC. It seems like the new stuff has a lot of potential to be used creatively. But yeah, I agree this DLC being pretty much only for evil characters when the game is pretty much only for good characters...is odd.
TheOriginalEvilD
Well, having a pet Deathclaw to roam around my settlement is pretty cool. That alone can pretty much take the place of turrets. I do wish they didn't shake the ground when they walk around you though, that's a bit overkill.
