davidmount
OK, yes I'm a noob at modding. I've downloaded and installed FO3edit, FO3MasterUpdate, and FO3MasterRestore (all in fallout3 directory). I also have BOSS, Wrye Flash, FOMM (old 12.6 in fallout3 directory), and FOSE (in fallout3 directory). Running WindowsXP SP3, .NET 4.1, have NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT, running large address enabler as instructed, and ArchiveInvalidate running. Have added: bUseThreadedAI=1 iNumHWThreads=2 to FALLOUT.ini (and preference fill in directory). HDR is off. I've read a good portion of the Manual for FO3Edit and have started modding up....just the UF3P. Used the auto installer. Ran FOMM to auto sort and enable mods. Ran FO3Edit - might have forgotten to run standard filter....Used Wrye Flash to make a bash patch - only had to list all masters, nothing mergeable. No pic of load order, fairly simple Fallout3.esm, followed by official DLC's in standard order: Anchorage, Pitt, Steel, Point Lookout and Zeta, followed by UF3P.esm and it's .esp's and lastly my bash patch. Re-start FOMM, check off bash patch, then run FO3Edit, then MasterUpdate, have tried fose launcher, FOMM fose lauchner and fose launcher from WryeFlash - always get CTD after taking GOAT. WHY!! I've been trying this for 2 weeks now, first time I've gotten CTD with only Unoffical Fallout 3 Patch. I'm trying to slow down the modding and really understand what I'm doing - 9 clean installs and having to remove upwards of 100 mods, gets kind of old....Played Vanilla version, 1 maybe 2 CTD's ever, now....Oh yeah processor is Pentium Dual Core, running 4 gigs of RAM. Help! Even just got CTD with new start and using Fallout3.exe - in case save was corrupted. Thanks in advance.
