"Romance" is a fiction created about 800 years ago. It's more about you than the object of your affection...

FAKE:

F. Romantic love is often uncertain and fearful of rejection;
it is exclusive, possessive, and jealous.
G. Romantic love is a fantasy-trip,
a prefabricated emotion projected onto others.
H. Romance creates an illusion of oneness.
I. Romantic love depends on imagination.
J. Romance is being in love with love
attempting to actualize a feeling learned from others.
K. Romantic love sometimes depends on manipulation.

For once, I can say the ice cold Brits got something right. They probably MADE the idea of romantic love popular as another means to divide and rule the populations they conquered.

Resist the truth and take the consequences. I did and got D stroyed.

Iliza Shleslinger mmmm.... Oh wait, you meant in game? Uh, Diamond City Guard number six. They got it goin on!

Study finds comedians are more inclined to have 'high levels of psychotic personality traits'

The Good news is, you choose the ppl ur attracted to from your unconscious parts you can't accept. So ur probably a nice person. Unfortunately, she'd murderize you but, that's the point. You're perfect foil, murderizes you.

I want to "romance" my female avatar that I use to play in the game. But, I think I already do...the only difference is, she does things I ask her to do, and stops when I ask her to stop. I thinks I figured out why I play female avatars in games! It's like I can be listened to and respected and it doesn't vary based on the amount of money I have to spend at any given time.

Try that irl and get back to me.

Deacon of course. Scumbag Bethesda making HOT, awesome and witty followers and then not making them marriageable/romancible. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, TELDRYN SERO.

I know right? For me it was Brynjolf. That accent! I had to use mods to add him to my harem.

Jeffglobal, you gave me a good laugh! Romance as a concept didn't exist before 800 years ago?! Homer would disagree. Read any ancient mythology from almost any culture. It's not new. But it also doesn't matter here, as 'romance' is being used a euphemism for screw. Bethesda seemed to think it was wrong of us to want to romance anyone so soon after our spouse died (ignoring that some people never wanted that narrative). Preston gets kinda judgy in your final romance talk and basically asks how you can possibly want a relationship when your husband *just* died. I feel like in Fallout 4 they wanted more of a taking refuge from a harsh world with a lover vibe, more than a romance vibe.

I don't care much, since I always collect every single lover anyway. But I'm looking forward to a modder adding in a marriage system like Skryim had. It just adds more depth to the game. I don't know what will be done about the lack of marriage dialogue but I'm sure someone will figure something out. Either reusing old lines or even splicing new ones. And the other day Deacon had this idle line, where he says "I'm getting tired of waiting" in a way that was positively smoldering. Whoever makes a romanceable Deacon mod, be sure to use that line, it was very sexy!

My character dated MacCready in my playthrough and the dialogue was much less judgemental. MacCready recently lost his own partner as well, so it makes a lot of sense in some ways for the two of you to get together.

Sounds kind of silly to criticize romance for being a fiction created 800 years ago while playing video games which are a fiction created 50 years ago...

I hate to break it to you, but video games are also fake. You are not really the Sole Survivor of Vault 111.

You know who says I'm not the sole survivor looking for my son? A Synth! That's who!
