Lord Valarian
Hello. I'v not used this forum or mods in years. So, I left private mail about this, but can't find it. I updated my email and password on the forums(system notice). I can login here forums. (not signed-in into nexus forums) --> If try to login into nexus mods: It says name and email invalid. I login into forums. I can click the link to login into mods. Sometimes, that doesn't work. If I logout of forums, then try to login to nexus mods ^ It says in name and password. Do I need separate account for nexus forums and mods? Else, what i'm I doing wrong. Thanks.
bben46
The same name & password should be for both places.Have you tried logging onto the forum, then clicking on the Nexus Mods tab at the top?
Lord Valarian
The same name & password should be for both places.Have you tried logging onto the forum, then clicking on the Nexus Mods tab at the top? Clicking the mods links at the top of the page works fine. If search for "tes nexus mods oblivion", then try to use the mods login page. It says "username and password invalid." DrakeTheDragon
Wait, what "domain" does your address bar contain when you get to the site from the google search result this way? Google is known to cache old, and mostly invalid by now, urls as well, and it might just be the case you happened upon such one. For reference, "www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/" is the only domain/url that's correct. All else "should" in theory redirect to the correct one, but some do not. And it's been reported before, and tested by myself as well, that certain old domains will throw the login error instead of logging you in, so that's definitely something to check for when coming from Google. Additionally there's now a bunch of "copy cat" Nexus clones floating around, and Google supports these in victimizing Nexus users by prioritizing search results on their pages over legit Nexus pages. Needless to say that these will definitely "not" know your login data, and thus their login form can only fail. (I'm not just guessing here but talking from experience. Cases such as this have been reported already with people getting the login error when trying to login on these wrong sites.) However!! If you now gave a non-Nexus site your current Nexus login, I strongly advise you change it immediately! Provided this is the case for you and you ended up on a copy cat page instead of just an outdated Nexus domain. That's why it's paramount to check what URL is in your address bar when you don't succeed to login. For reference, "tesnexus.com", "tes.nexusmods.com", "oblivion.nexusmods.com" are the -old- domains, maybe there's more, but I can't remember any right now. Everything else than these might mean trouble.
