EaglesSorrow Posted April 16, 2016 Share Posted April 16, 2016 i found a 12mm submachine gun, i bought a couple of attachments for it. i opened my pipboy and when i went to add the two mods, they don't show up. i checked, they're not marked GRA. dubiousintent Posted April 16, 2016 Share Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) Not all weapons of a given type are "equal" in the game's eyes, as you've obviously discovered with "GRA" branded weapons. Each weapon has a (short) list of acceptable attachments. If the ones you acquired are not on that list, you can't install them. The differences in the names are often subtle. Unique weapons often have special attachments with their unique name included which are easy enough to spot, but mod added weapons may not be accurate enough in their list or deliberately require their own attachments. The easiest way I've found to determine what is on the attachment list for a given weapon in game (without using GECK) is to install the mod "WMVM - Weapon Mod Vending Machine", which provides seven vending machines (looking like green newspaper boxes). With them you can equip the weapon in question, click on the vendor box, and get a list of the attachments with a cost (5x the nominal attachment value, though this is adjustable). But getting the attachment names is free. Compatible with WME. EaglesSorrow Posted April 17, 2016 Author Share Posted April 17, 2016 thanks for the help. i tried WMVM, with the anti-materel rifel i bought from gun runners along with a silencer that i bought for it. i could'nt attach the silencer to the gun using my pipboy. i tried WMVM and it said there were no attachments avaliable, i don't have any mods installed related to weapons. maby something went wrong wit the save file? dubiousintent Posted April 17, 2016 Share Posted April 17, 2016 The Anti-Material Rifle (AMR) doesn't have a "silencer", only a "suppressor". This is one of those subtle differences in name I was talking about. I don't think (haven't surveyed) any of the mods are "universally" applicable, even those that are "generic". Which is why I check the mods in WMVM first. Also some mods are not available to you until you have a high enough skill (repair, guns, or energy as appropriate). The AMR is definitely one with restrictions (100 Guns) because it is so powerful. Or you can take a look at the weapon in GECK. And I see that even with "Weapons.of.the.New.Millenia" it doesn't have any mods listed for the AMR. So that means you need to add another mod such as "Weapon Mods Expanded (WMX)". -Dubious- Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
