TES4edit very basic, essential help needed Please

Hello again, my favourite online community.

First I apologize because I am not even sure this is the right place to post this. I've searched for help in this website, then on google, and nothing matches my case :(

Second, knowing myself, because this is probably the dumbest question ever asked.

So I downloaded the CS 2.2.3 AND the latest experimental version (3.something). The TES4edit files were simple .exe 's, no 'installation' process was done, so if you remember using an installation setup wizard or so, tell me. Other thing I can think to ask, Do I need to run TES4edit from a specific file/folder location in my computer?

Opened TES4edit for the first time in my life. (doubleclick...) Window pops up with my mod list and checkboxes. My active mods were already checked. I clicked 'ok'.

Main window shows up, divided in two. On the left, the plugins and the oblivion.esm. On the right, the detailed view with the different tags at the bottom (view, messages, info, weapon, armor, ammunition). On top of the window, the box that displays the current path. On top of the left-side division, FormID and EditorID boxes. That's all. I've read several tutorials until the point where it says 'click File...' ....Where is my File button? No toolbar at all, no right-click menu either.... and worst of all, all tutorials say, ' you should see the Render window...' my Render window does not exist. I've serached for screenshots of what the program should look like and mine has got some very important things missing. Or it's my brain missing (90% chance actually)

I thought I had a corrupted download so I also downloaded the experimental version. Same procedure and results.:(

I use Windows Vista.

Thanks in advance. Your help is much appreciated!

EDIT: This is the closest thing I've found on the web : http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/300695-how-does-i-modded-hard/ . However I'm also missing all the buttons(all the toolbar in fact). There is no such Construction set . ini file in Documents/MyGames/Oblivion . Ideas anyone?

I don't know what you mean when you say

So I downloaded the CS 2.2.3 AND the latest experimental version (3.something).

The most up to date version of the Construction Set is 1.2.0.404. I checked, and apparently you weren't talking about the Construction Set Extender either, because that is up to version 5.1. From looking at the file versions, I can only assume you are talking about TES4Edit, which you say you have. TES4Edit is not the same thing as the CS.

I don't know what tutorials you're talking about, but since they mention the Render Window, they're most likely talking about the Construction Set.
