Annoying things that bugs me in Morrowind.

These are the bugs I encounter semi-seldom in Morrowind even though I downloaded the latest patch.

-Sometimes when I hover over an item, alll sudden I can't see it's description, I can't see the description of any items. I have to reload the game.

-Sometimes, very randomly, the game will just shut itself and I'll be at the desktop. So I have to launch the game back again.

Major annoyances/bugs

---------------------

- The freaking monsters that drain your attributes. That's so freaking lame, you have to carry restore attributes scrolls or potions. It's annoying because sometimes you're at the near limit in carrying so when it drains you, you have to either drop inventory, reload the game, or other. It's just a major annoyance and the attribute drain should only be temporary (1-2 minutes) but VERY effective.

-You know when you're scouting the areas or dungeon you see the path where you walked on your map screen. Well, sometimes the path you just walked doesn't show on your map screen, it's like you never walked on there. So you have to walk on it again. grr

-Most of the time you have to center your character exactly in the middle of the ramp or stair otherwise he gets stuck on a pole or the side of the ramp... yawn...it's just isn't smooth.

-The Caldera's mine investigation quest. I had to read a spoiler on that one cause I did everything the quest told me to do but I couldn't finished because I did something that wasn't in the right order in the quest.. Come onnnnn..... give me a break. :angry2: So the only way to finish that darn quest was to needlesly kill the mine boss and some other guy.

-Instructions when they tell you where a specific location is. OMG, that's a pain!

example: go west from the post sign to Ginsis then turn left at the westmost sign crossing from Caldera and blah blah blah. TALK about confusion. When I finaly found that Den, I was so freaking pissed. Why don't they just pick a MAIN location and say either NORTH of that specific location SOUTH or whatever.

-The dungeons are too dark, and NO I ain't gonna walk around with a torch and I ain't gonna turn my brightness at max cause the designers like for the people to tear their eyes out to see. I played alot of games with the same brightness and when going into a cave or a dungeon you see stuff.

-What's the deal with mines. There's nothing of value in those, I just don't visit them unless it's for a quest.

- Guards or Ordinators sometimes block the narrow passages in Vivec. You spend like 10 seconds trying to jump over them...grrr

That's about all that bugs me from this COOL game.

I could be wrong but if you go into the INI file and change max fps down a bit it will prevent alot of desktop crashes i know what you mean because i am running morrowind on a grossly underate computer desktop crashees are a part of every day play for me :(

Does anyone else get bugged by "your have" in the soul gem filling message? I don't know why, but ever since I noticed it, it has bothered me. :angry2: I don't really know why, I guess maybe I pay too much attention to that stuff ^_^ I also had problems with crashes, but not recently for some reason.

I think you'll find a lot of these points have been raised in the Morrowind wish list thread and elsewhere. There is a pinned section on how to avoid crashes to desk top. You can use the console command fixme or reset actors to eliminate many irritations. And yes, there are some quests that need to be done in a particular order but not so many. Have a look around the forums to see where there might be other useful hints.

Unless you are a game programmer/developer, you have no idea how hard it is to eliminate those bugs. The CTD's are becasue your graphics are too low- the frame rate is too high in this game (it works fine for me). Yes, these things are annoying, but they in no way detract from the immersion and playability of this great game.

Agreed, frustration doesn't compare to the IMMEMSE playability of the game. However if u get to a point where ur crashing to desktop, reloading and then crashing again 2 mins later.........if i'd had an axe that night my PC would've died BIGTIME :angry2:

also, i found a lot of crashes can be avoided by not overworking the game i.e not trying to draw a different weapon, jump, rotate camera around ur character AND load a new cell all at once :(
