Wrye Bash not detecting archives for installers?

Recommended Posts

Is everything else showing up in the Installers folder? Which version of Wrye Bash are you using? Have you tried telling BAIN to do a full refresh?

Yes, Wrye Bash 293, CBash 0.5.2

Haven't tried the full refresh thing...how?

It's an option when you right-click on the Installer tab or the Package header in the installers tab. However, I think your problem has something to do with Bash v293. Did you install Wrye Python 4a before upgrading to v293? That's one thing. Also, you may just need to go ahead and download the latest version from the SVN. It sounds like BAIN has gone wonky on your setup.

Have you modified the bash.ini at all? If you don't know what I am talking about, great, you probably didn't. If you did, back it up by dragging it onto your Desktop temporarily or something.

1. Download the latest Bash from here: http://oblivionworks.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/oblivionworks/Programs/Wrye%20Bash/ <-- Hit, download GNU tarball near the bottom

2. Put the tarball in your Oblivion folder, if you did not download it there.

3. Extract it until you get to the Wrye Bash folder. If you use WinRAR, all you need to do is use the 'Extract Here' command. If you use 7-zip, you have to extract it twice.

4. Delete the Mopy folder out of the Oblivion folder (the folder you're in).

5. Go into the extracted Wrye Bash folder and copy the Mopy and Data folder.

7. Right-click somewhere in the Oblivion folder and choose 'Paste' or 'Paste here'.

8. When prompted to override, choose yes, and check the 'do the same for the next X conflicts' thing as well.

That will upgrade Bash to the latest SVN version for you. I think they fixed most of the Installers tab bugs already.

Did what you said and am now 294. Sadly, I still don't see the installers.

If I do a complete uninstall to Wrye Bash and Python will it cause any problems with my game? Maybe If I reinstall it, it will fix it.

When I reinstall it, do I install Python or Wrye Bash first?

Uninstall Bash and Python completely first, then install Wrye Python 4a, then install Bash.

If you still have problems, post in the Bash thread on the BethSoft forums. I'll post a link in a sec.

You're welcome.

I just hope you can get Bash up and running very soon...

Sorry to necro-post but this was one of my first search results this "fix" worked for me perfectly!

First post : "What do you see under the "Installers" tab? If nothing, and you are not prompted to "Refresh" the Installers, then right click the header bar of the Installers and make sure "Enabled" is checked."
