clintster74
Drakeelvin and myself are working on a joint Companion mod using Layla from the unmarked quest “A moronic Band of Mercenaries” she is the NCR deserter you find in the Vicky and Vance casino three days after you complete the “ my kind of town quest” Now to the point Layla is set as Caucasian raider and has dirt on her in trying to get rid of the dirt I have given her a new id and set her to Caucasian female this gets rid of the dirt but changes her face (her vanilla face is the main reason Drakeelvin wants to use her). Here is where I am stuck I go in to the face advanced tab to edit it to the same settings as the original Layla and the settings will not save, not allowing me to duplicate the original Layla face. Drakeelvin runs a low end system and we want this to run on a low end system with no dependences on other mods or texture/body replacers. Main question how do I get the settings in the face advanced tab to save
rickerhk
An easy way to preserve the face geometry settings when changing an NPCs race, is to make a copy of the NPC's original race (Caucasian Raider) . Then set the texture paths for head/body/hands to be the same as the Caucasian race. Then set the NPC's race to the new race. I haven't had much luck fiddling with sliders in the race object either. rausheim
Another way, but may take a longer time. When in the entry of the NPC, go to "face" and right-click the specific parts of the face and drag to one of the sides. May need some practice, but you can make pretty much any face with it. clintster74
RickerhkStill lost can you give a step by step on how to do this? I made a copy of the npc but I don’t think that is right and where do you set the file path for an npc’s textures. I have made a new super mutant with new textures and sit it to the .nif in nifscope and set the file path in geck but can’t find were to do it with a NPC

In the left hand object Window of the Geck, find 'Race' and highlight that. In the right window you will see a list of all the NPC races. Highlight CaucasianRaider and hit F2. Type a name - CaucasianRaiderCustom and say yes to create a new object. Double-click to open up CaucasianRaiderCustom, at the bottom click on 'female'.
