apetrock
Hi all, I'm very new here. Just bought GotY edition of Oblivion off of Steam because I really want to get some replay value out of all the mods for once. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get this to work. Right now, I've looked around and tried several solutions to no avail. I am running it through Steam and trying to install Qarl's Texture Pack 3. I have already moved the game out of Program Files, disabled UAC and tried two different versions of the mod. What happens is I active it in OBMM and it spends a long time decompressing, but nothing shows up in the left box. I went ahead and changed BSA alteration etc. to the proper settings. I also watched the data/textures folder as the old files were deleted and new ones put in. But when I load up Oblivion, nothing has changed. Thanks,a pet rock
Druuler
I don't play Oblivion that often (I'm more into FO3), but I have noticed a similar incidence with using OBMM myself. Here's what I have noticed: OMODs don't show up in the load order listing. They only show up in the middle window. The mod should be active, just start you game and see if there is a difference in the textures that the mod changes (I haven't used this particular mod, so I am unaware of what it covers). If the mod isn't active in game, uninstall it using OBMM, then try installing manually. I'm no expert, but that sort of thing usually gets things running for me. fg109
Some mods don't have esp files. I don't have QTP3, but since it's intended to be a texture pack, it's probably all dds files. I also suggest you load up the game and take a look around first before deciding whether or not it installed properly.
apetrock
Thanks all, it appears to be working. Seems like I misjudged how good the textures in QTP3 would be. It all has been working and seems in order. However, OBSE has been giving me problems running through Steam. I followed the Steam installation instructions and put only obse_1_2_416.dll obse_editor_1_2.dll and obse_steam_loader.dll into the proper oblivion folder. The problem is that OBMM won't let me enable a mod that requires OBSE unless I also put the obse_launcher.exe into the folder as well. But if I leave it in there, it won't let me launch Oblivion since it's through Steam. Is this to be expected? For now, I leave the .exe file in the folder to install and then move it once the mods are all activated. Since it's a level-up script I'm not sure exactly how to figure out if it's still running properly. Thanks again for the responses,a pet rock
