.22LR Rifle

While I was wandering in the vast desert of the wasteland, I opened up my Pipboy. For the first time in a century, I scrolled over to the ammo section and discovered how many rounds of .22LR I had. Normally, I wouldn't complain on how much weight they took up, but I was sort of disappointed that no .22LR rifle exists. There's an SMG and a pistol chambered for the round, but no rifle, despite the word RIFLE being in the name of the ammunition. I looked over at the nexus, and the only thing that really comes close is a re-chamber of the varmint rifle. Fail.

Anyway, I would like somebody to do a rifle for .22LR. Being the most common ammunition in the United States, you could have a lot of models to chose from. For example, I picked out some models that would be nice. I was thinking perhaps a 8 round magazine and about twice whatever damage the pistol has. However, the accuracy could be maxed as it was the fastest and most accurate round until the .17 and .50 were developed. I would also prefer to have one scoped, as this could be a good scoped starter weapon, as you don't find scoped rifles that often. I would also like the gun to be fairly common, the rarity somewhere in between the varmint rifle and the 10mm pistol.

Here's some pictures to get someone started. Also, keep in mind that I (or we) would prefer a bolt action or semi auto. If you decide to do a semi-auto, decrease the accuracy:

Bolt action

Another bolt action

Semi-auto

And if you really want a challenge:

Bullpup semi-auto

Do it if you can, I'm sure the community and I would be grateful to have a scoped rifle that actually had a use for .22LR rounds.

I see the point so I added a 22LR Rabbit Rifle using the Varmit Rifle mesh to my Crafting mod in progress for the next update, I might split all these gun ideas later, I added the sawn-off double Barrell .50 Cal last week :)

The reason why they look like Air Rifles is because any other picture on Google Images has a background on it.

Also, I don't want to replace the varmint rifle, not to mention I want a scope on there as a default: I want a new weapon. The attachments would probably be shared with the regular sniper rifle, as they are fairly generic attachments.

Hmm, the bullpup semiauto actually looks like the most fun, though some of the lore purists would probably crap a brick at all that plastic and modern rails and overall 21'st century design. Which actually makes it all the more tempting to make :P

I can't help noticing though that the 4 models you provided are actually VERY different from each other. Most people who requested a gun so far, had very specific models in mind. Should I understand that basically just about ANY gun is ok for you, as long as it's .22 LR and a rifle? Would make it all the easier if basically there are no constraints.

EDIT: mind you, don't take this as a promise or anything. I'm just asking.

I was just thinking it could be around, as a common weapon, not as a special weapon. And the models aren't very different, I just want a traditional rifle, like the Hunting Rifle, but with a default scope and a more small-rifle feel. Lighter colored wood helps that.

And to be honest, the reloading animation could be the Hunting Rifle animation.

Or you could just make a new material for the hunting rifle, have a scope as default, and chamber it for the .22. I don't think it would be hard, but IDK how to code.

I'll just use the varmint rifle's model, shrink it a bit, and the hunting rifle's colour scheme. I'd probably change the sights, though. I'm thinking hunting-rifle sights, but without the green dots. (Keep in mind, I LIKE the green dots, they're very helpful, but they aren't something that fits here.)

I'll include this in my current mod. Available mods will include:

Sniper scope:

Strong magnification, excellent for long range targets.

Night scope:

Doesn't magnify as well as the sniper scope, but has night-vision.

Extended magazine:

Changes mag size from 20 to 30, but lowers reliability. (It's a .22, why not?)

Casket mag:

Changes mag size from 20 to 40, but lowers reliability even more.

Lightwieght stock:

Lower wieght, greater spread. PERMANANT.

Short barrel:

Lower wieght, greater spread. Stacks with lightwieght stock. PERMANANT.

Supressor:

Lower wieght, lesser velocity and damage.

Hair trigger:

Small decrease in spread, small increase in rate of fire, small increase in reliability. Random chance to fire on reload, ready and holstering.

Custom action:

Greater rate of fire, lighter wieght. Small loss in accuracy and reliability.

A unique version will also exist named "Baby's First Rifle." It's a miniature hunting rifle in .22LR, and can only use the extended magazines. Comes supressed, has luminescent white dots on its sights instead of green ones.
