Th0raxeIV
Ok I'm gona start playing New Vegas again...and I want to know based on the number and quality of mods wich one should I create....A male character or a female character. Now I prefer playing as a male (I am a man IRL) but, like in oblivion, I may end up playing with a female char because of the mods. Give me your opinion and/or share them with the rest of the comunity on this topic
NorthWolf
There's a lot more content for female models, just the reality of it. Still, it's not like there isn't some high quality male apparel, just not as much as for females.
totootwo
I voted female because of these: DK Female Face Textures | http://www.newvegasn...le.php?id=38788- Amazinggggggggg face texture. Makes default look like Super Mario 64. Any Type 3 Body Replacer, I use Beware of Girl, but there are a ton that aren't necessarily adult mods (adult content warning*) | http://www.newvegasn...le.php?id=34702- Amazing character replacement. Just makes your 3rd person view a little more appealing (if you play a girl char). Anthony Lings Coiffure - Hair, Eyes, Lashes | http://www.newvegasn...le.php?id=35352\- Great hair choices, and a million new eye colors that arent the default: light brown, dark brown, blueish brown, and greenish brown. Copy pasted from here: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/374955-recommend-me-some-mods-please/page__st__20 I think it's perfectly fine to play as a female character even if you're a dude, because it's all about the experience. The appearance of your character can be better customized if you choose to play as a female: facial texture (with DK) is better, bodily appearance (with Type3) is better, Hair/eyes (with Lings) is better. But if you're still not sold lol, it's all about who you want to play as. It doesn't change your personality, or your characters personality, to play as a different gender; merely the aesthetics of your gaming experience. Personally, I don't want to watch a dude run around a wasteland for a hundred hours, so it was an easy choice for me XD
Spartan184
I picked male because your a man :P Though since this is your second play-through maybe you should go in as a female. Also Totootwo your links are broken well except the the last link. Edited July 5, 2011 by Spartan184
cavveman
I would say female. Since the clothes that exist here on Vegas Nexus looks better on female players. And also that a lot of modders work more with mods related to female attire rather working with male attire. That is my feeling atleast. And also I prefer to look on a girl than a guys butt. But that's just me ;) I usually use thismod made by theRoadstroker and invalidfate. You also have this mod made by exeter But I will admit that Roberts male base is quite good. There are some really good mods for a male player. Take a look in this topic
nivea
Females get the most of everything when it comes to Oblivion/Fallout series, so if you want to play a character right away without haveing to make stuff yourself... Pick a female. Now "quality" is another thing, personally I think males get better "quality" outfits and bodies but there a lesser amount of such mods. So it comes down to this, do you want a Large amount of outfits/bodies/textures or do you want a smaller amount but better "quality"? I play male characters, I like men more then women. Male mods I love: Bodies:http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39880 or http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35451 Race:http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38221 Outfits:http://www.newvegasnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=1196961http://www.newvegasnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=30377http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36152http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35740 Also do a search for Robert and Breeze to find more armors. Now I prefer playing as a male (I am a man IRL) but, like in oblivion, I may end up playing with a female char because of the mods. Give me your opinion and/or share them with the rest of the comunity on this topic The most important mods are guns. They work regardless of gender. I think there are a lot of armor and clothing mods for male and female though the ones that get the attention/downloads/ratings are the female armors that show lots of skin and have the DT of Ranger Combat Armor. They are fun and nice to look at. But if you prefer to play a male character then play your preference! You CAN find some really good armors for males out there, look for Hellfire armor mods, Power Armor mods, Ranger armor mods, and Chinese Stealth armor mods, just for starters. There's also some cool black leather armor textures, new types of dusters, all kinds of cool stuff. It just doesn't garner the attention of the skin baring female armors is all. Checkout Tailor Maid it's one of the coolest looking armor and accessory packs out there and it works for both genders. The belts and other accessories really can make you look badass, not just the armor itself.
NorthWolf
Yes, personally I prefer the male content way more than the female content in most cases. I understand it appeals to some people to have those types of outfits, but it breaks immersion for me, sooo... The caveat is that there is less male content, either way. In terms of mods that I think an average person would deem "setting friendly," though? I think it might be tied.
ghostrecon123
females have more clothing mods but the way i see it, it depends on what kind of items you want to use, most male clothing mods are tactical clothing, combat armors, military gear and cowboy clothes while most female clothes are skimpy, sexy, tight and very revealing clothes like super small school girl outfits, bikinis, bra armors and all those kinds of clothes that would feel uncomfortable wearing in the wasteland in real life, although there are some military armor mods for females too, just not as many as male military armors my first playthrough was a male good guy wearing TG armor collection's black Enclave PMC armor with authority glasses working for the NCRmy 2nd playthrough was a female bad girl (not really evil karma, more like just below the middle karma) wearing some tight jeans and small shirt with some weapon holsters working for House but my main save is my male save, my first playthrough
