I'm new to the game and have experianced two problems. 1. A saved game will not load unless I restart the game under new game, then load the game I want. This occurs about one out of 3 times. 2. Fast travel locks up about one out of 4 trys. Going to task manager says Fallout NV is not responding. Bethesda tech support has no idea what I'm talking about. Which doesn't surprise me. davycrockett Posted July 5, 2011 Share Posted July 5, 2011 oh no beth knows exactly what your talking about they just wont admit they rushed the game into the market place to maximise profits at the cost of stability , anyway more to the point can you provide more details such as is it the steam version , what mods if any, dlc, patch version , even system spec installation location also plays a part i found , and the more technically minded angels here on the nexus will provide their assistance . A bit more info from me. I am running windows 7 on a Dell XPS. Have only a couple extra mods. ( Same problem existed without any mods) Problem exist if I play with or without Steam.. Talyna23 Posted July 6, 2011 Share Posted July 6, 2011 Sorry to say it, but that problem most likly won't go away...Only hint I could give, disable all autosave options and don't begin a game with "continue" but via "load".This seems to help a lot of people. Thanks for the tips but not much help. What did help a little was I disconected my network with steam, AND I make fewer long distance rapid travels. I have little problems going thru doors or gates but try going a distance and 9 out of 10 its going to lock up. Am I correct to call this a lock up instead of a crash? A crash to me is dropping to desktop. This problem is an ever lasting transfer screen, music still playing. Maybe this will help someone else until Beth looks into this ( what seems to be ) a common problem. It will be a good year untill I purchase Skyrim after I view the forums here at Nexus!!! I am curious due to the latest patch. the team an I are in a holding pattern waiting for the next shoe to drop. so I am out helping out a little while we wait.
