The long barrel mod has a max range modifier of 16, the in game range with 0 perks and no muzzle attachment is 203 with the long barrel. With a marksmans barrel which has a range modifier of 18, the in game range is 227. With a short barrel which has a range modifier of 9, the in game range is 119. EDIT:Looks like each point of a mod is worth 12 range, and there's a base range of 11. So multiplying the total range modifiers from mods x 12 and then adding 11 will equal in game range. So I guess the new question is, is the 11 just a number set by Bethesda or is that determined from something and is the weapon datas max range irrelevant and just a ceiling or for npc ai to use.
