Moksha8088
I just read that the survival mode beta is needed for mods made with the Creation Kit. Is Survival Mode like Hard Core mode in Fallout New Vegas? If players have this Survival Mode add-on, will players still have the option to play with the regular difficulty settings? That's not quite correct. The 1.5.151 version of the game (currently in beta) adds in Bethesda Net modding support (not quite the same thing as Creation Kit, you can still use a mod made by the Creation Kit that you downloaded from Nexus without any issues). It also, quite separately, adds in a new survival mode. This replaces the survival difficulty of Fallout 4 with something similar to Hardcore mode in FNV. However you can still use mods on any difficulty setting in the game. If you're currently playing a game on survival difficulty, that character gets switched to Very Hard instead when you play it in the 1.5.151 beta. sophiextime
oh if i may add please.. So i have my Fallout 4 in steam on auto update. Over last few days i have noticed short little FO4 update downloads occurring just after i log into steam. I play Fallout4 on survival mode and i also use a Hardcore MOD that was created and is in Nexus, much like how this new survival mode will be. So main question i have is will Bethesda be updating my game with a non-beta version with survival mode? Beta always sounds like a test sample to me..hehe I do want to try and use this new survival mode but i havent installed it as i would rather wait for the official non-beta version i guess. Its all a little confusing to me.
sophiextime
Oh wait i think i may have answered my own question. :pinch: I have not 'opted' into Beta testing so until the official 1.5 update is released i wont experience the new survival mode. To try it now i would have to go into my FO4 steam settings and 'check' beta update/use. So i shall just anxiously sit on my hands and patiently wait for all the beta testing to finish and the survival mode to be ready and in next official update. Moksha8088
So what I read about mods that will be made with the Creation Kit requiring the Survival Mode beta is unfounded? A hardcore survival type of play seems undesirable to me, although I can see the appeal to those who insist games are too easy and they could beat a game blindfolded and with the mouse behind their back. gamefever
Can beat it only making left turns with the mouse.

Several mods currently on Nexus are made with the Creation Kit. They appear to be working just fine for everyone.
PoliteRaider
So main question i have is will Bethesda be updating my game with a non-beta version with survival mode? Yes. I know you mostly figured it all out yourself but just to clarify, when version 1.5.151 is released as a stable release you will have access to survival mode as soon as your game updates. Your current survival character will switch to Very Hard when you load the game after the update. In order to play on survival, you'll just need to change the difficulty setting in the main menu back to survival.
