rinoaff33
I've noticed with some frustration that Living Economy has the annoying tendency to reset all of the items' prices to the vanilla values. This leads to ridiculous things like unfinished and worn armor being worth more than brand new armor, plus it causes my income to decrease dramatically (I wish I'd known this before trying to work my way up the Thieves' Guild, since I could've done it much faster with the upped prices). I've used the "startquest cflemenu2" command to set the prices to Alternate Prices --> OOO Prices, but, unfortunately, that was only a temporary solution. Today, I noticed that the prices reset once again, and I believe it happens any time I enter/leave a store. Even the temporary solution stopped working; setting it to OOO Prices does absolutely nothing now (and yes, I did remember to use Recalculate Prices). Disabling the Living Economy ESPs and making a clean save did not do anything to help. I would disable OOO and reinstall, but: 1. that is a lengthy process; 2. I have many items that are from OOO; and 3. that could glitch up my game even further unless I restart all over again. I want to be able to use the dynamic prices, but it looks like it's going to have to go. Does anyone know how to fix this? Edit: Living Economy's ESPs are loading before OOO, before anyone asks. I've also tried Enhanced Economy as an alternative, but it doesn't run without Pluggy, a notoriously crash-prone addon. rinoaff33
I hate to do this, but...bump. I've tried searching around as to how to fix this, but all indications simply state "Load Living Economy before OOO" and "Living Economy permanently affects item prices." There's nothing about Alternative Price glitches.

It fixed at least one of the old bugs in LE, and it's still supported. BOSS will place LE where it needs to be though. --Tomlong54210
rinoaff33
I tried Enhanced Economy. Every time the game loaded up the scripts (like 3 seconds after it loads the saved game) it crashed to the desktop. Did you have the latest version of OBSE installed? --Tomlong54210
rinoaff33
Hm...earlier, I believed I had the most recent version of OBSE, but when I redownloaded it, another unrelated mod, the automatic version of Shield on Back, started working. Even if Enhanced Economy works, though, how will I reset my prices back to the OOO values? Disabling Living Economy doesn't remove its price changes. Edit: Okay, so Enhanced Economy works, but the prices are still wrong - case in point, a normal fur shield is valued at 8 gold and weighs 2 pounds, while a worn fur shield is 12 gold and weighs 1 pound. LE's prices are only enforced by it's presence or the presence of LE Items. Perhaps, you didn't use LE to change the base prices? How are you installing Enhanced Economy, BAIN or OBMM? Anyway, LE and Enhanced Economy don't change the base prices unless you tell them. To with EE, this is a matter of installing the optional price files, which requires Pluggy. Install Pluggy v132 or v125c or v126. Did you every use LE's alternative prices? Well, if you did, EE offer's those as well. Just press 'R' while in the inventory menu to change the price settings. --Tomlong54210

It's because it "reset" the prices via its dynamic gold system, ex. when you walk into an alchemy shop armor is worth 0 gold, when you walk out, it's reset to the vanilla values. I don't know why it does this. I have disabled both Living Economy and Living Economy - Items and the prices/weights are still off. Also, I reaaalllyy don't want to use Pluggy unless I have to because of the crashes it apparently causes (already have enough issues with random CTDs as it is, although recently they've gotten better). Unfortunately, the ONLY way for me to completely reinstall or remove LE is to remove OOO, because they're bundled into the same OMOD. I know my issue sounds fairly petty compared to a lot of the other issues on here ranging from CTDs to textures not loading to things going missing to OBGE/Deadly Reflex issues galore, but it's quite hard to afford some of the high price caps on quests/houses that OOO puts in without having items that are high-priced in OOO like clothes, gold clutter, etc. Plus, the higher weight value on vanilla gear makes it hard to use some of the much heavier OOO items (ayleid weapons come to mind). That, and I'm sick of having random mods crap out on me. I've been doing bug fixing and personal modding ever since I picked Oblivion back up 2 months ago to the point where I play it half as much as I fix it. Tomlong54210
I suggested the versions of Pluggy I did because of the issues with other versions having random crashes. Personally, I'm running v132. You can install OOO without installing LE. It would be much easier to fix the install if you were using BAIN. :L Just reinstall OOO without LE. Or, just get delete LE plugins from the Data folder. OBMM will complain, but you can ignore it. I do have a guide for installing OOO and other things on my site. Post your load order via Wrye Bash (preferably) or OBMM, and I'll comment on it. --Tomlong54210
