Keshyngul
Hey guys I'm semi-new here to the site. I've been DLing files for awhile but just recently registered. As for modding oblivion the most i can do is retexture and do alil in the CS Moving on I thought it would be awesome to add a set of armor in the game with the skin of Guild Wars Obsidian/Fissure of Woe warrior armor. If your familiar with GW you've probably seen the armor, even so heres a link to some pics of it. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Warrior_Obsidian_Armor It should probably have the same stats of daedric so its not obsolete to higher level players. It seems like it would be heavy, but you could add a light and heavy version. You could put it on a high level boss you have to fight, rather then just give it to the player. The armor is the main thing im requesting. All credit goes to who ever makes it even if they take my suggestion above. But we would need a sweet weapon to go with it am i right? Fellblade from GW would be cool. Pic below http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Image:Fellblade.jpg

Fellblade from GW would be cool. Pic below http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Image:Fellblade.jpg I could probably make the armor, its easy all I would have to do is get that file from the game the armor is from(I'm going to need it), import it to my blender, add a texture (I'm going to need the texture file from the game as well), and export it as a NIF (the Oblivion format for a mesh.) The only problem is that I don't know the format your game uses, so its going to be hard for you to find its mesh. If you know what I'm talking about lol, then tell me if you can get it. And your going to have to send the texture for the armor. Pretty much I'm telling you that I can easily make it by opening the armor file for that game and changing its format to NIF. That way it will be exactly the same and you can enjoy it. Reply back if your interested. ;) And by the way, a Mesh is a model of the object. So when I say I need mesh of the armor, I'm saying I need the amor's module file.

Its an online game and I can't get my hands on the specific files. Hence the request. So if anyone is willing to take this on I have an idea for a full mod i would like to work on, im just no good at creating meshes, only retexturing. So like i said, much appreciated if some one can do this
Aoshima_Michio
Actually all Guild Wars meshes and textures are packed into gw.dat file and can be extracted out of it. I just don't know how but it is possible. Edit: i looked few secs around internet and found next things: gw textures are in .dds format. Hope andrewguy12 knows what it exactly means. I also found commandline tool to extract files from .dat file. When i have more time i'll try it. Edit2: okey, i extracted gw.dat. It contained total 83674 potential mesh files and 41580 possible texture files. This gonna take while...

But dunno how to extract em! This angers me lol. But i will find a way!
TheTerminator2004
You do realise that using a mesh from Guild Wars in Oblivion would be illegal, don't you? In the same way as using something from Morrowind would be illegal. So, you'd have to make it from scratch.

Even if you don't profit from it in anyway, give credit to its original authors, mentioned copyright and took no credit? either way my first idea was scratch but then there was a lot of talk bout the original files so figured we could give that a shot. guess i'll look around figure out what i can do here. Aoshima_Michio
As a general rule of thumb, we don't mind if you do things like this to make your own playing experience more fun. Some people really like to mod, and we recognize that this can often be a valuable learning tool. When you're doing it, though, keep in mind that we ask that you don't use our content to mod other games. Please do not attempt to extract anything from your GW.dat with the intent to use it in a mod for another game or project So, no original meshes and textures for you. Well this saddens me lol no matter. Oh and thansk btw i was looking for a quote from A net bout this. Anyway guess that means gotta do it from scratch. Anyone up to it? If some one makes the meshes and textures, I'd be happy to make a simple mod in which you can retrieve the armor from a leveled boss. Just need some one to make the textures and meshes. So if anyone likes the idea let me know. You can e mail me at [email protected] or on here.
