Tomlong54210
Ok, so I reinstalled all my mods except QTP3 and now Oblivion CTD before the loading screen shows up (I have intro movies off). wtf.... edit: For the record I could get to the main menu prior to installing all the mods. All of what mods? Did you regenerate the Oblivion.ini, the file in the My Games\Oblivion folder? Did you turn on BSA Redirection in OBMM Utilities > Archive Invalidation? I don't think any of that would contribute to a CTD there, not installing QTP3 either. What else did you install? --Tomlong54210 Wasn't aware I needed to regenerate the Oblivion.ini, I'll set it to BSA redirection, what if I was using alteration the whole time? I'll go try both of those and come back, if the problem isn't solved I'll list all my active mods.Oh, I forgot about that. BSA Alteration alters the original BSAs. Plenty of reasons to not use that feature... I hope...no. I wonder if you need to use the Reset BSA Timestamps function. That has nothing to do with the crashes, but ...forget about that for now. It's in the same menu as the BSA Redirection feature. You can use it whenever, but it's better to use that before adding mods (which may add other BSAs). --Tomlong54210

I wonder if that might be a part of the problem.. At this point I don't care what I have to do to get this game working again. Tomlong54210
Right-click on the 'Package' header in the Installers tab and uncheck 'Skip OBSE Plugins'..?? I'm confused over why you're confused... --Tomlong54210
ComputerGod91
I didn't understand if you wanted me to do something, it sounded like you were talking to yourself, I did already enable BSA redirection. Now you're talking about a Skip OBSE plug-in setting which I don't know for what program and where to find it. We are still in OBMM? edit: Hmm, I just realized that I forgot to copy over my Spell tomes DLC BSA and esp.... Could that have something to do with the current problem. No.. I got to the menu before without it. How would I go about getting that back...? Edited July 10, 2011 by ComputerGod91

There's a 'Skip OBSE Plugin' setting that you want to make sure is unchecked so that OBGE and other OBSE plugins can be installed by BAIN. Right-click on the 'Package' header in Bash's Installers tab. --Tomlong54210
ComputerGod91
Oh, ok. Let me just try and get bash going. I tried disabling all my mods except Fran's mod and the UOP's while I was waiting on your response to see if that would work. It didn't  Edit: Got an error when trying to open the Bash.exe standalone edition.. Traceback (most recent call last): File "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw", line 31, in <module> File "bash.pyo", line 311, in main File "basher.pyo", line 15386, in InitLinks File "basher.pyo", line 14297, in InitStatusBarIndexError: tuple index out of rangeTraceback (most recent call last): File "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw", line 31, in <module> File "bash.pyo", line 311, in main File "basher.pyo", line 15386, in InitLinks File "basher.pyo", line 14297, in InitStatusBarIndexError: tuple index out of range I swear I'm a few seconds short of F this and reinstalling the game in a different location if steam allows it. Then trying to mod that version were everything is hopefully fresh. Edited July 10, 2011 by ComputerGod91
Tomlong54210
You have to reinstall Steam to reinstall the game. If steam is outside of the default folder, you'll get nothing out of moving it. Are you using BOSS 1.8? If so, you could try downgrading to BOSS 1.7 temporarily, until Bash v294 is out. --Tomlong54210

Yes, I'm using BOSS 1.8 so I'll see if I can find a download to the older version. Funny, I thought the modding community was dead for this game and that nobody really played Oblivion anymore, I guess I was wrong and that's a good thing. How would I go about uninstalling BOSS properly as to not screw myself harder then I have already. Another thing I'm curious about is if you think by installing Bash we can somehow get this game to stop CTD before it has a chance to open. Especially since it's impossible (as far as my knowledge goes) to revert this game back to vanilla because I used BSA alteration several times in the past so all my BSA's are nowhere close to vanilla. If reinstalling would be an easier solution and then just installing Bash and BOSS instead of OBMM from the start then I'm willing to do that. I don't know, I'm new with this whole thing and you clearly seem like you know what you're doing so I'll just let you tell me what to do. Edit: Hey! look at that, I yanked out the BOSS folder and Bash opened. I accidentally deleted my Spell tomes DLC, how can I recover/redownload that? Tomlong54210
I don't know. Use a recovery program to get it back if you just deleted it. Reinstall Steam to C:\Steam or local disk (whatever drive letter it is)\Steam. Here are some undelete things you can try: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_programs/how-can-i-recover-deleted-files-with-shift-del/13b1eaad-d41a-4e77-91c5-f0bc9590de7d You don't have the EXE or disc or anything though? Also, BOSS 1.8 add a Program Files entry. I assume there's an unistall option there. Instead of just deleting things, you should uninstall any utilities with proper uninstallers (if they have them); otherwise, you registry won't be clean. --Tomlong54210

What do I need to be doing in Bash? now that it works. Edit: No, that's the fun of digital downloading I guess :/ no discs or nothing Edited July 11, 2011 by ComputerGod91
