Console command "showracemenu" crashes game

I'm having this really weird problem. Whenever I use the command "showracemenu", the game will crash, however it only crashes for particular save files, specifically the last 50 or so files where my character's race is a Blood Elf. If I load an older saved game when my character was any other race, "showracemenu" works perfectly. In fact if I change the older race into a blood elf, save/load the game, then use "showracemenu", it still works! It's just my existing blood elf won't work with showracemenu option...

I unequipped everything on my existing blood elf and it won't work either. I completely reinstalled Blood Elf race mod, and still won't work. Yes all the load orders should be correct since I used BOSS to sort them out.

Does anyone know what might be causing this problem? Thanks.

Have you installed the Unofficial Oblivion Patch and Unofficial Oblivion Patch Supplementals? I recognize this bug, I just need to find the solution posted somewhere.

Edit: It looks like the solution was to use Bash's Repair Hair fix for that case. It's one of the options when you right-click on a save in the 'Saves' tab.

Yes I installed unofficial patch.

I fixed it by using ShowRaceMenu hair fix mod, much simpler than the Wrye Bash method. Thanks.

Oh, yeah, I remember that mod. I don't see how that's faster than a few clicks, but certainly if you're not using Bash it is a nice alternative.
