Solymer89
During my recent play through of a Battle Mage who started out at the college, and watching a great TES lore series on youtube, I was struck with an idea. The main quest of the college has to do with super powerful artifacts that were deemed too dangerous for the world at large. The mod idea is a sort of continuation of this theme, revolving around the different Daedric artifacts that are strewn about the land. After defeating Ancano and becoming the Arch Mage, you're made aware of research that Savos had been carrying out before the events in the main college quest unfold. The Eye wasn't the only major artifact that Savos was aware of. He was doing research into the various Daedric artifacts, their effects, and most importantly, a collection of information regarding their whereabouts. His intent was to find them all and bring them back to the college to lock them up for safe keeping. So the mod would add a quest after the college quest, requiring you to do further research in finding all the Daedric artifacts in Skyrim. I thought that this would be a far more eloquent way of going about finding all of these super powerful artifacts, and also that the college would have great interest in them. The major difference would be instead of being chosen as a champion of the princes, and being coerced into using the artifacts, you are proactively looking for all of them so that they would not affect the world and it's people, to safeguard the citizens of the realm from the machinations of the Daedric lords. I think this new purpose to find all the Artifacts would make a nice addition to the major quests available. It's the type of quest that can be woven into other quests, but also an opportunity to speak to everyone, everywhere in the hopes of gleaning any information regarding the princes and their artifacts. The best part of this idea is that the vanilla quests for the artifacts would remain unchanged. All that would need to be added would be the quest progression, and a journal from the arch mage with information collected from various sources regarding the princes and their artifacts. My thought would be that Savos would have located at least 1 or 2 of the artifacts locations, gained a smattering of information regarding another 2 or 3 of them, and have nothing regarding the rest of them, other than the knowledge of their existence. This puts his burden on you, the new arch mage. The journal would outline the dangers of these artifacts and give sound reason, steeped in lore as to why these artifacts should be safe guarded, and who better to do that than the mages of the land. I would be willing to attempt writing the journal and collecting aspects of the lore of TES for this purpose, though I am not much of a writer and have no experience in modding, other than using them. Let me know what you all think! Edited April 26, 2016 by Solymer89
