Dud3
Anyways I'm using this sword Umbra. (If you didn't knew "Umbra" means "Shadow") If I remove my shield and put on the ground my total AR will drop from 233 to 206. However, if I keep the shield equiped on me even if I use the 2 handed sword, my total AR will still be 233 and will not drop to 206. I can use the 2 handed sword and still keep my AR 233 just by keeping the shield equiped.. Strange...I hope you understand what I mean.
Marxist ßastard
Yes, that's completely normal. I suppose that the reasoning behind that is that one could still have a shield strapped down when using a two-handed weapon and it would give some protection, but would not be able to completely block attacks. Dud3
lol, ya that as my reasoning too. It's funny, blocking in this game is almost next to useless. I have pretty high blocking, and I seldom block an incoming shot. Even if I don't block the shot, the damage the enemies are doing to me in this game is almost meaningless. I could have 3 daimona lords on me and I can go take a leak, by the time I come back, my energy is barely at half used. Man, I love this Umbra sword....is this the best? Looks pretty strong to me.
Blackmage
Dude... is your block high enough? I love block, although I'm not a one handed weapon sorta guy... how can you go wrong with negating all damage from an incoming shot? I mean, I know that you're so uber and you have 101238102-381028301283018230.3 hitpoints so it doesnt matter that they hit you... but for new characters who can't afford to take 2 shots from a daedra... Yea, go block! Ok, there goes my idiotic sounding post for the day.
Pack Rat
I dont think it does matter if it's the best or not... <_< It depends on what type of weapon you are trained. Take my char for instances, Jun'Ko has the umbra too but she does far more damage with her glass halberd... See where I'm going? That's why I find it such a pitty there isn't a daedric halberd in the game :(
Kirlack
Dont you have to be set to attack in order to block? In my experience if your block is anywhere over 50 and your not fighting an uber critter, when you weapon arm swings out, u pull ur shield in close, then you're ready to block....right
Ferret
Man, I love this Umbra sword....is this the best? Looks pretty strong to me. I think the best 2 handed sword in the game (without Tribunal or Bloodmoon installed) is Chrysamere.
